Pendulum for Download

Aussie dance rockers Pendulum have been added to the bill of this year's Kerrang!-sponsored Download festival.

The full line-up for the festival is below. Stay tuned to Kerrang! dot com for more announcements later this week.

The Kerrang!-sponsored Download festival will be headlined by: Kiss, The Offspring and Lostprophets.

The full list of other bands on the bill so far is as follows: 36 Crazy Fists, A Day To Remember, Alesana, Alter Bridge, Apocalyptica, Biffy Clyro, Bleeding Through, Bullet For My Valentine, Cavalera Conspiracy, Children Of Bodom, Chris Cornell, Coheed & Cambria, Disturbed, Fightstar, HIM, Incubus, In Flames, Job For A Cowboy, Jonathan Davis, Jimmy Eat World, Judas Priest, Kid Rock, Madina Lake, Motorhead, Pendulum, Rise Against, Seether, Simple Plan, The Black Dahlia Murder, Throwdown, The Devil Wears Prada, The Dillinger Escape, The Subways and Within Temptation.

The Download festival takes place the weekend of June 13 to June 15. Tickets are on sale now. Prices are as follows: a full weekend ticket: £130, standard camping: £20, camper van: £40, family zone camping: £20, lockers: £11, parking £10 in advance or £15 on the day. There will be a variety of ticket packages available to buy, including the RIP packages (a VIP package) from £315. For Club or VIP Experience packages, please call 020 7009 3484 to discuss your requirements.

I go on holiday for two weeks and I come back to this?

Pendulum are rubbish. They do not deserve a spot at Download. Now, I know what you're gonna say, "If you don't like them, don't watch them!!" Which I won't be by the way... but my real disappointment is this: I finally booked my Download ticket yesterday afternoon thinking that there'd be WAY more bands on the bill right now [some good ones I'd hoped], and what do I find..... one. One shitty band that even I [in all my music knowledge] haven't heard of. I almost wish that I hadn't booked my ticket now...

download is well crap now.
i went in 06 and the line up was so good.

the past 2 years the line up has been poor.

boo to live nation.

there are hardly any well established bands.

wouldn't be suprised if they cancel download due to lack of ticket sales ha

To be honest I'd written this band off as crap a long time ago, but having seen the days and stages on the Download forums, I'm gonna have to check them out properly as otherwise, bar The Offspring, the Saturday looks like being a waste of time, which would almost certainly mean I'm heading off to Rock Am Ring or Wacken next year, I'm sorry to say.

Pendulum had better turn out to be good now!

Cavalera Conspiracy and Children Of Bodom, second stage, Sunday, headlining! HA! The Lostprophets crowd is probably going to be a little sparse. CoB are the band everyone has been wanting for years, and most of those will prob. stick around for the Cavaleras. Get in!!!

just sos you know, all the other stages end before the headliners on the main stage. thats why my chemical romance were bottled so badly, bcause everyone came up from watching KoRn on the second stage and Suicidal Tendencies on the third. so LP are gonna get murdered.

haha.... Pendulum are playing Reading/ Leeds aswell but noone complains cos the rest of the lineup is sooo fucking AWESOME

Fuck Download.... Reading/Leeds will always have first choice of bands
Download would have LOVED to have Rage, 'Tallica, Slipknot..... but the better festival gets the better bands.

I went to Download in 05 and the bands were good, there are some bands I'd like to see this year but Wacken line up appeals more!!

Live nation and kerrang are totally fuking ruining a great weekend like

metal hammer should sponser download and kerrang should sponser Leeds/reading

that will fit more for the bands they are putting up

fair enough there a a good few bands there like Bullet, in flames, kiss, judas priest, children of bodom. etc

i was looking forward to this anouncemtn i always love wondering who is going to be anounced but since i bought the tickets everyweek i have been disapointed

i went on wikipedia yesterday to see if more had been anounced becoz kerrang is soo slow and it said slipknot and cradle of filth were anounced and i hit the roof

i was on kerrang every 10 mins waiting for them to tell me its true

A word of advice:

1. Don't use Wikipedia to see who has been announced. Download Festival's official website and their forums are the most up-to-date source of information.

2. Kerrang have no say in who plays or not (although I'm sure they influence it)

3. This announcement came on the Download Festival Forums first at 10pm last night.

4. Wednesday 13 is the only band there that are likely to play this year.

5. Live Nation are hardly going to listen to you with that tone or language. Its hardly going to be a 'killer' weekend if you keep complaining in such a way.

Well said Peter, I'm sick of all this whining everywhere.

Also, Ryan, learn to type and someone might pay a slight bit more attention. And they arn't going to announce bands because thats what a miniority of people want, its whats going to sell tickets.

I think this years line up is pretty shit, but I'm still going, I'm not complaining, I always have an awesome time and make my own fun with mates that I don't see often.

By your attitude, I hope you arn't going, as people like you are the last people we want at our festival.

Easy to say when you're safe behind a screen.

A slight contradiction there in what you say, seeing as though no-one will be seeing you at Donington at this rate. Have some bloody respect for other people. I don't like the line-up either but I don't go checking unreliable sources of information, I realise already that bands such as Airbourne and Exit Ten are on their way, and Testament - better than every single band you appear to want - are now highly rumoured.

Download will be better off without the likes of you, if you want to go to Graspop, then go! No one is forcing you to go to Download except for you as a ticket holder.

Ermm, Ok then...

Well Pendulum arn't all that bad, far worse bands they could have put on.

Being a Metalhead, I'd much rather see alot more metal, but its not going to happen, as Download has never really been a metal fest, and monsters of rock, well it says rock, not metal.... yes. it generally had alot of metal bands, or petty much all metal if you put them into the classic / trad metal catagory.

But Download is run by different people and is a different festival, I got every year, and see a couple of awesome bands, this year, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Children of Bodom, Cavallera Conspriacy.

I'm happy with those few bands, but I go for the party, if its such a problem, sell your ticket or dont buy one, all this whining makes you all sound like little school girls and is pissing me off, Live Nation arn't going to pay any attention, they are going for what sells tickets and believe it or not, most metal isn't going to see many tickets for them, so be happy for the few decent bands they are putitng on and SHUT THE FUCK UP!

I'd love to see Kreator, Exodus, Xentrix, Anthrax, Slayer, Machine Head, Sacred Reich, Overkill, Athiest, Nevermore, Alestorm, Heathen, Biomechanical, Testament, Flotsam and Jetsam come to download and kick us all inthe fucking balls and show all these pussy kid bands how the fuck it done, but lets face it, untill there all in multi-platinum sales, its not going to happen anywhere other than Wacken or Bloodstock.

Funny how people always think the media partners book the bands

On the Reading and Leed boards people always blame NME if they don't like the band? Media partners aren't usually involved in booking the bands. Band booking is all down to the murky mysterious water of Agents.

Days and stages

Kerrang mag apparently has the initial days and stages of the bands announced so far (why this isn't on the website yet I don't know). By my reckoning there are still 3 main stage bands for each day to be announced. Means plenty of time for some big last-minute announcements still. PLEASE let Nightwish and Meshuggah be two of them!

but Pendulum are fuckin awesome n the DJs in the campsites at festivals know this when theyve got a shit loada people uniting n havin a fuckin ace time (they do overplay blood sugar a bit tho) (oh and usually off their facey on drugs hehe) rock n roll

pendulum are awesome, but over played and liked by emos an that, there starting to fall into that category which is a real shame, also download this year sucks , its meant to be a metal festival, not a fucking emo fest
