Kiss: “Fans don’t want a new album”

Kiss, who will be headlining the Kerrang!-sponsored Download festival on Friday June 13, are telling fans not to expect new material any time soon. But then again, you don’t really want a new Kiss album do you?

In an interview with panoramamagazine.com, guitarist / vocalist Paul Stanley said: “We're asked about [recording a new album], but we know fans don't really want new material.

“I could write the next Let It Be,” he continues, “and people would say, ‘That's great. Play Love Gun.’ And we're happy to do that.”

i really dont like kiss but i must admit they had their famous days and a new album would prob ruin it
so kiss are shit but the new album would prob make fans go off them i.e it will never sound like the old stuff

i fucking love em! favourite band ever! i actually WANT them to release a new album! psycho circus was a great album with some killer songs on it and if they do another album like that then i dont know why the kiss army would complain! the thing that they should really be doing if they aren't going to release new material is that they should be doing the really obscure rarely played stuff. We've heard i was made for loving you 100000times. can we wear comin home or rock bottom please!!

wee have seen so many legendary bands loose their repuatation from making new album.

AC/DC , iron maiden they should end at the top

Kiss shouldn't go down that road

If kiss make new matirial it will never be as good as the old stuff wich is proper kiss

they should finish at the top and remembered for songs like, detroit rock city, psyco circus, crazzy crazy nights.

instaid of making new songs wich won't be kiss anymore

I agree KISS wrote alot of classic rock n roll and even if they had a new album and it went to number one people would be like "play love gun" "play strutter"

maiden & ac/dc

im sorry to say this but how are AC/DC and maiden now "shit" they are still two of the most well known rock bands and for their newer stuff have revieved awards for it.

Kiss are immense but i dont agree on a new album, i'd just like a greatest hits album or something then a greatest hits tour, will be cool

Thank fu*king christ they ain't doing another album... Its bad enough that they are headlining download! What has happened to kerrang and download??? Its getting crapper and crapper by the second! I still remember going and seeing real quality bands like slayer, system of a down and korn ... now they're only catering for a kids between 10 and 17 who have partial vision due to a fu*king huge fringe covering they're eye! Its shocing that that they're headlining download... Better options would have been Slipknot, Machine Head, green day, korn, Trivium... Jeez any band with some sodding balls! But no... guess the girlie rock scene is staying around for a while...hopefully it will die out like the "The Darkness" Phase kerrang went through! Here's hoping anyways!

Anyone remember when kerrang used to front with the saying "life is loud", i want that back... because at the moment life is moderatly turned up in case an emo gets a fu*king earache and cries.

That's the first time I've ever heard that said.

If you do't like the line up for Download, simply don't go!

By the way, I'd like to mention, more adults like Kiss than kids/teenagers!
The adults were around when they first came out. (If you were implying that they were there just for the kids, if not sorry!)

But I agree with 1 part, I like Green Day more than Kiss (sorry to any massive Kiss fans, just my opinion! Don't hate me).

not at all, kiss ain't emo, but the download line up certainly looks it... not a world class heavy kick arse band in site... would love to see cradle of filth ... but oh well... and yeah the perfect act to close download would be green day, they we're amazing at MK the other year and im not even a big fan unlike my gf.

just seems kerrang always follows the crowd like a bewildered sheep! licked the darness arse while they we're about and now only cater for emo's.

shame really! used to be a good mag!
