This Weeks K!

(Slash - Confessions of A Rock God) This sounds quite good and i may be purchasing the mag just to read this.

METALLICA are gods so it best be a big feature.

Lost Prophets, Dillinger, Rage, Cancer Bats, The Blackout are quite good

Plus a Pandora and Black Tide poster.

I can say that there is a 65% chance of me buying this atm.

If Metallica feature is 2 pages, there will be a 80% chance of me buying it

Can I just point out the obscene amount of Velvet Revolver you guys have been publishing lately? Don't misunderstand - I'm a huge fan of Slash and all - and I understand that Scott Weiland's departure is a huge deal for VR fans, but please, could you print something else? For example, the fact that in LESS THAN TWO MONTHS, the new My Chemical Romance DVD, The Black Parade Is Dead! hits stores? Seeing as it's the first we've have heard out of the band for two years, all us fans on the forums are getting pretty shook up. I don't understand why you've gone from having loads of MCR coverage to virtually NONE, frankly. I repeat: NEW DVD! NEW DVD!!!

The good news about Kerrang! is it is a throw away magazine most of the time you can just read it in the supermarket =P

If the Pandora poster is good i'mma buy it though! I love the Pandora sticker you gave away like two years ago, I want a poster like that!

and Slash FTW! Sounds like first good cover story in ages!

To MCR fans: I am looking forward to the DVD too, but come on, it's just a live DVD it's not like a new album or anything! There are a lot more going on than ONE band releasing a live concert on dvd. It's still two months away yet, that's 14 issues!!! You'll get your feature!

ugh...

screw the black parade is dead...im as big of a my chem fan as all those others ^^^ but its just a stupid live dvd, its not like a new studio album...like cute is what we aim for's, thats dropping a week before my chem's, and its shaping up to be pretty damn amazing, from whats been released so far. over a week later, and i still cant get Doctor out of my head...lol!

AVA Live Review

2 K'S?! You people at Kerrang are so two-faced when it comes to AVA. One week you love them, the next you hate them. I went to their Bristol show and it was AMAZING!! Better than the MCR show I went to. Yeah, you heard me. AVA put on an amazing live show, so you people at Kerrang who hate them grasp for anything you can think of to put them down. And using Tom's voice? Please, how desperate are you?! Tom sounds great live and AVA put on an incredible live show. Ask people who've been to see them. And yet that review was almost entirely based on Tom's voice!! His voice!! It's fucking rude picking at the way he sounds. And it's also completely pointless. There's nothing wrong with his voice for one thing. And people can't help the way they talk or sing you idiots, so stop using it as an excuse. It's fucking pathetic! Get over yourselves!!

Hmm.

Tbh, I won't be buying this issue.
I love The Blackout, Chiodos, Lostprophets and a couple more bands, but £2.20 for a 70 page (or something) weekly magazine I'll be reading less than 10 pages of?Too expensive, and basically pointless.
Slash is a legend, obviously, but I'm not into Gn'R.
I hope it's better next week. =]

ok... i read kerrang each week, only one reason i pick it up, and thats for angels and airwaves.
I was at most of the shows on the UK tour, including Birmingham Academy which your writer, Steve Beebee, slated so badly...

All of the gigd on that tour have been better than anything I've ever been to before... and the comment "many are tolerent enough to share with him" is far from true, there are SO many dedicated fans all around the world that travel wherever they can to see this awesome band.

Moving on, Tom Delonge may use alot of Delay/Echo (whatever you want to call it) on his guitars, but that doesnt mean that they sound exactly like U2, take any song from either band and there is a definate difference in more than just the lead singers voice.

I could go on and on about this review as I don't agree with any of it, but I'm pressed for time right now... so I'll leave it at that.

Who the hell wrote Angels And Airwaves review???
I was there, and it was amazing!
I don't know what they saw, was they sat there with their eyes closed waiting for Blink to come on stage or something?! Why do you include Blink in the review? Tom has moved on now, and makes new music! I don't think the reviewer got the message, which is dissapointing.


Tom's voice was amazing! His speaches where too! The lights set up such a good atmosphere too! There was nothing wrong about it! It was all so amazing!
2/5, I don't see it. I'm guessing that Steve Beebee is a Blink fan.

ANGELS AND AIRWAVES

...
I have been 2 many gigs and seen AVA 4 times now and i was at that Birmingham show and it was one of the best gigs i have ever been 2 if not THE best. You always give bands like Muse and Foo fighters good reviews, i have seen both them bands and think that the AVA gig was just as awesome. So..STFU, thanks. : )

Angels and Airwaves review

Anyone else think the AVA review is really harsh? I was at the show and it was the best experience I have ever had. The lights were amazing along with the music and the laser goggles that Tom wore were epic. Never seen anything like it.

Fuck off Kerrang, what a total bollocks review. Sometimes I think about whether you guys are on the same planet as some of us.

When writing a review Mr BeeBee (if that is your real name...) look through the perspective of the band's message and meaning and rate on that. The fact that all the shows apart from Birmingham sold out, shows you the popularity of the band.

AvA are clearly making you dicks money, you continue to post shitty articles like "Grill Tom Delonge" and random interviews however when it comes to the music you just bash it. Give the band some fucking respect, the live review and album review were utter bullshit.

How a band as talentless as Good Charlotte can get a better review is laughable.

Get fucking real guys.

I totally agree w/ IcyBubble! Although I wasn't at this particular show that "Mr Beebee" reviewed, I have seen AvA 11 times, and they are amazing! (Sounds like Mark and Travis have gotten to Mr Beebee!!) Lame!!

Ok.. I got my weekly Kerrang magazine today and read the AVA review you wrote.

May I just ask what the hell you were thinking?! I went to 4 of the shows and was completely blown away.. Tom's voice has improved 100% and so has his stage performance.
Granted this stupid review guy didn't like the show but did he not see the true hardcore AVA fans around him?

Yeah Tom rambles a bit but we follow every word he says and believe in his band.
Next time there's an AVA gig to be reviewed, I suggest you pick someone with:-
1- A fucking music taste,
2- The guts to go against what everyone else at Kerrang thinks,
3- A better fucking surname.

I really feel like you victimise AVA for no particular reason - they are an extrememly good band, but you, just like a lot of other people for some reason, just don't seen to give them a chance. Why can you never make it through an article without mentioning blink-182? Why don't people understand that blink and AVA are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT?! You simply cannot compare the two bands. It really gets on my nerves. And, I'm also wondering why you never mention David, Atom and Matt...you know, the other three members? I love Tom a lot, believe me, but it's very unfair to only ever talk about him in your reviews and articles. Stop crying over blink-182 and start appreciating Angels and Airwaves for the amazing band that they are.

i attended a meet and greet. angels and airwaves did one at EVERY show [excluding japan]. do u see ANY bands doing that. stop this shit about being jealous they actually make a difference and other bands just sit there like shit. the have modlife , the most interactive fan base in the world. AvA is a movement.. not a band, so stop hating on them for being different. they sound amazing, and are unique. UNLIKE other bands, they care about the lives of people and how the world is, they strive to change it, strive to get us to change the world. we KNOW we can, all because of the message the put forward. some don't like it because tom isn't in blink or they have something against him. i was at the astoria on the 17th when they were playing-mand , they were fucking AWSOME! I mean People were crying all around me, they were THAT good! I was nearly reduced to tears so many times.There songs are so touching!:) And Tom still has his witty charm and pottymouthed-banter, which makes the show. And his speech on love, is just beautiful. They were AMAZING, and tom's voice is the best, so induvidual! They are the best band at the moment, saving music! The only "amazing" music since Blink 182(who were truley awsome)

AVA AMAZING!

i was at the astoria on the 17th when they were playing-mand , they were fucking AWSOME! I mean People were crying all around me, they were THAT good! I was nearly reduced to tears so many times.There songs are so touching!:) And Tom still has his witty charm and pottymouthed-banter, which makes the show. And his speech on love, is just beautiful. They were AMAZING, and tom's voice is the best, so induvidual! They are the best band at the moment, saving music! The only "amazing" music since Blink 182(who were truley awsome)

Tom Delonge has a new style. Its actually his style that he's always wanted to come through, but blink was more punk and juvinille.

You'd think you could just appreciate a good thing. A positive message. The most DEDICATED FANS ON THE PLANET, and 2 awesome records. It doesnt matter which grandpa reviewed this show. the AVA concert I went to was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. Seamless, beautiful, passionate, crazy amazing lights, songs with such inspiration and feeling... The guys in the band are truly some of the greatest, nicest, and most talented people you will ever find. (as a few other people have said) Go join Modlife if you want the real deal - (real news, info, behind the scenes, exclusive stuff, and a chance to get to know Atom, David, Matt, and Tom) - and real fans who actually understand the message, care SO much for this band, and will back them more than 100%

If it's the same reviewer of I-Empire who clearly knew NOTHING, giving it 3-stars, saying the only standout track was the single, claiming the line, "My friends have changed, a few did last" was from Heaven, and also making several other obvious and embarrassing mistakes, then he clearly deserves to be sacked over and over until he eventually just throws himself off a bridge.

I don't understand what it is with Kerrang!... how can you put AVA on the cover one week and then have bad reviews about them the next? It makes no sense. And why is it that every article about them HAS to include something about blink? I'd like to see one written by a true fan rather than just a critic to turn this around.

The AVA shows were amazing - for the die-hard fans, the people who knew their music and even for those who've listened to them before.

Most of the people who are on this site here defending AVA are the die-hard fans - the Modlifers. We're behind them 100%... and nothing you can say in a comment on here will change that.

I am a die hard angels and airwaves fan. I went to EVERY DATE on the recent UK tour. In doing this I was looking forward to reading kerrang and knowing full well that every date was simply amazing and uplifting, i was expecting a 4 or 5 K review...

BUT 2?!?! 2 BLOODY K'S
WHAT SHOW WERE YOU WATCHING!?!?!
This band is amazing and put on an amazing set combining something for all fans, blink, boxcar and AVA

Toms speeches are inspirational and will affect more people than any of your reviews.

also at every show I recieved a meet and greet with the band. no other band does this. they are changing the way music works and you can't accept that becuase you wont get over a pop punk band that died 3 years ago....

i'm never buying this magazine again untill you apoligise for this truly awful review from a show that deserved OH SO MUCH MORE.

YOU WILL SAY SORRY. OR YOU WILL NEVER HEAR THE END FOR THIS MISTAKE.

I am a die hard angels and airwaves fan. I went to EVERY DATE on the recent UK tour. In doing this I was looking forward to reading kerrang and knowing full well that every date was simply amazing and uplifting, i was expecting a 4 or 5 K review...

This band is amazing and put on an amazing set combining something for all fans, blink, boxcar and AVA

Toms speeches are inspirational and will affect more people than any of your reviews.

also at every show I recieved a meet and greet with the band. no other band does this. they are changing the way music works and you can't accept that becuase you wont get over a pop punk band that died 3 years ago....

i'm never buying this magazine again untill you apoligise for this truly awful review from a show that deserved OH SO MUCH MORE.

Angels and Airwaves, An American Band

Like many have pointed out AVA is not Blink, so those who go to an AVA show do not expect a big flaming F*** sign, and expect Tom, Matt, David, and Atom to blow you away with a truly awe inspiring performance. There is truly nothing wrong with a Band who wants to make positive music about love and changing the world by changing the way you see the world. Tom has a great voice for the music he sings, David Kennedy rocks the Guitar like The Edge, Matt Wachter brings excitement and flare to the bass and keyboards, and Atom on the drums is the best at this time in music. No matter Kerrang says AVA will touch the lives of their fans.

Like the comments before mine, you can simply see the MANY MANY people this band is touching. If you take the time to hear the message, to see what they have to offer, and how INVOLVED they are with their fans, you will eat every word written in your review. This band is going places, farther than your simple mind could possible imagine from what I see, and the fans that love them, and what they are, will be right there supporting them every step of the way.

Slaves to gravity

Feckin ace that Kerrang are featuring more slaves to gravity, I've literally seen them about 10 times and the london show was truly epic. Make sure you see them at download - gonna be huge!

Regarding AVA...

AvA totally blew me and my friends away at this gig.
It completely brought their songs to life for me!
There is so much pressure these days to 'not give a fuck' about anything... as if that's the answer... like it's cool not to care?
Angels and Airwaves give a fuck...
Since I discovered AvA, all I can say is how refreshing to hear something truly positive and beautiful in such a depressing world. It serves as a reminder that there is actually some good left out there.

Angels and Airwaves has touched so many peoples lives.
Including mine.

The show i went to was mindblowing, the atmosphere was incrediable and everyone around me loved it.

This review does NOT reflect the show's at all.

Tom DeLonge, David Kennedy, Matt Wachter and Atom Willard are just doing what they love. They are great people and contribute so much to their fans.
Such as meet and greets...i met them and they could not of been nicer and more appreciative towards me.

Steve Beebee looks like you deserve us an apology for that appauling inacurate review....

Modlifers are the best.

Steve, Steve, Steve what on earth are u thinking? You have upset me and my fellow modlifers, of which we are many.
I was at both shows at the London Astoria and both rocked.

Angels and Airwaves are amazing if you really take time to listen to them - you obviously went to the show after you had written your review right?

Find out from the people that count what Angels and Airwaves mean to them. This band have done so much more for their fans than any band ever. Their music is amazing, the band members ATOM, DAVID, MATT AND TOM are all the most amazing guys you could ever meet, and Tom's voice is amazing as his stage presence - originality ftw.

I only buy Kerrang for articles on Angels and Airwaves and this week I have been highly disappointed.

I'd like to say I luv ya Steve but I don't.

I remember the first gig you reviewed of AvA which was in the u.s and that was given 5k's and you couldn't praise ava enough for what they were trying to do and there music.
So whats changed?
The songs have got better and the live performances are the best thing i've ever seen, so what i believe Kerrang are just following the crowd of Tom Delonge haters or your getting reviewers that already dislike ava so they'll just slag them of.

AVA Review so HARSH!? AVA have improoved IMENSLY Live. Tom can sing, enough songs to play, and AMAZING LIGHT SHOW? Even if you don't like AVA i think if you were at the shows you would give them 5/5 for EFFORT.

I was at the BIRMINGHAM and SOUTHAMPTON show. Toms voice sounded amamazing! Better than ever.

AVA are actually moving up in the world and Kerrang just shoots them down. Im assuming its because you still havent got over Blink yet?

BE FAIR TO THEM NEXT TIME PLEASE. This was an Amazing tour, most songs played as good as the CD some even better. Now you make them look like a piece of shit to most the British Public. No wonder know one knows them in the UK.

If SOMEONE could take their foot out of their ass, listen to something that's actual music (not this mcr, fall out boy, panic at the disco shit), they'd know that AVA excels over all new "in" bands. Toms voice is unique in a good way, I hear no whining. He's also a genuine person, not just in it for fame. The rest of the boys are awesome too, they actually take time out of their day to set up and meet with hundreds of fans daily on their tour. Angels and Airwaves put on the best show I've ever been to, and I won't be picking up any more issues of Kerrang,

i'm not sure how an AVA show could get such a low and hateful review.

every one i've attended has been uplifting and incredible.

you reduced your review to taunting tom....about his voice, his message, his life!? and we may not always get along, tom and i, but that is just plain rude and spiteful. and it's uncalled for.

and "yawnsome musical indulgences"? excuse me? but i know you did not just insult HAL? ;)

matt, david, and atom are incredible when given solo moments during the show.

you see what happens when you fuck with modlifers/AVA fans....so maybe, next time, you should think before you type.

and also....a shitload of echelon followed matt here from 30 seconds to mars. and you know damn well how bad we can be.

Ava concert review

Okay, so I understand not everyone has been drinking the Tom DeLonge kool-aid, but the review of the show in Birmingham was rediculous.

First off, any review of the concert should entirely review; THE CONCERT. The reporter only put his predesigned thoughts of the albums in the review showing almost no interest in the show. To call the fans merely "tolerant" is a clear understatement for anyone who has been to an AVA show. I was highly disappointed with this review, not because of the content, but for the writers laziness in doing his job. It easy to see he wrote it before the show and went with zero open mind.
