Nightwish are still good. There are LOADS of Symphonic / Neo-Classical bands out there with operatic singers, And if you see them live...my god! You will definantly fall in love with them all over again! I did :).

I second that the next issue should have a Nightwish poster!! I'm a huge, huge fan of theirs [actually I'm quite small in size ;)].

Agreed, it's not the same since Tarja left. But at least Nightwish are still making songs, and Tarja's making her own. So you can listen to Nightwish if you like Tuomas' lyrics, or Tarja's songs if you like her voice. Personally I think Tarja and Nightwish should have a 'reunion', even if for one concert, and then Tarja and Anette could have, like, a duet. That would be like a dream come true!!

ok so i was under the impression that kerrang was here to support all new music, whith a rock edge or wahever who cares if there emo or goth or i dunno, ok i cant think of no more labels.but either way if you dont like a band-fair enuf,everyone has there own tastes, but jus leave it.mcr have made some good music and its all origional,id like to see anyone else write their music an dlyrics,the same as elliot minor-i dont particualy likethem but im not gna bitch abou em,instead of spendin time doin that im spending time listening to bands i do like. Nirvana are one of my favourite bands of all time and I'm glad Kurt Cobain is dead. And do you know why? Because if Nirvana were still making music today they would be "corporate rock sell outs" the opposite of what Kurt Cobain wanted to be, and the reason he put a bullet in his brain. People don't fucking realise this, Nirvana would suck ass today, we've all seen it happen to other bands. We should appreciate that Nirvana made great music during their time, instead of being here now instead of being some shitty old rock band.

well- know what .. i find this really pathetic. you're glad that someone died? hmm- maybe someone like hitler or polpot- but kurt cobain wasn't an evil dictator- and he wasn't a bad man. yes- he was a drug addict, and yes, sometimes he was rude- but it doesn't make him less of a human being- which doesn't really go to say for yourself mate, since you're glad that someone endured pain and then died. personally- i'm not a huge fan of nirvana, but they did make good music (my own opinion) and kurt taught people a valuable message, that i think you should actually listen to sometime pumpkin, and no- it wasn't about taking drugs or being a "smack-head"- it was about being yourself... you need a fucking baseball bat in your face because know what- maybe he'll be glad when you're dead- infact .. i hope he fuckin' is.

How come kerrang only covered one measily section of the bands that played at SXSW. I mean, the Get Happy Tour played at SXSW with the likes of Bowling For Soup headlining that... where was any mention of that?!? Bowling for Soup are an amazing live band and deserved to get some sort of a mention in your SXSW review!!!

personaly i dont know what all this fuss about elliot minor is about :S

i have seen them live 5 times + 1 supporting mcfly back in december
and i dont see whats not to love about them, im totaly addicted

they are really nice guys and were NOT manufactered, they give all their time to their fans and i have alot of proof of this from experiences with them

they were hardly mentioned this week, just 1 interview they shared with 3 other bands

Elliot Minor

I think Elliot Minor should be welcomed as the best new comers.
They're new, original, and just brilliant.
They try an talk to the fans, and let the fans know who they really are, (I.E webisodes)

They're a great combination of classical, and Rock, and i don't think any band has done before!

They're way better then any typical, conventional heavy metal band, that don't know what they're actually playing, and just make up stuff an scream as they go along. Elliot Minor are listenable.

They're good, they're new, they're original. And if you don't like them, fair do's, i don't like heavy metal, (Enter Shikari, and DeathStar excluded) but i honestly think you should give them a go!

WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU

They are not original. Classical music and rock HAVE been combined - and what they use is NOT really that classical. They use a bit of strings and a bit of piano - wait - that means FOB use classical music too...NOT!

Both the previous bands mentioned are SHIT.

I have given them a go - but they are boring. I listen to lots of music - if you wan't good examples of classical music combined with rock, try bands like

Kamelot - a good symphonic rock/metal band with great vocalist Roy Khan.

Epica - Fronted by Simone Simons, Epica are a true Symphonic Metal masterpiece! Not quite in the rock side but oh well!

Lunatica - A band K! seems to neglect and dispise, this Swiss band pack a symph rock punch to the face of Elliot Minor...

For the heavier side of Symphonic...

Nightwish - Probably only as heavy as Epica...infact not as heavy but oh well!

Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Vesania, Hollenthon etc - Symphonic Black Metal for the masses! Currently my favourite bands of the genre listed there! Give them all a go and IGNORE ELLIOT MINOR

i agree, we need some more posters on those bands because kerrang has kinda gone downhill and it is way behind
on it's 'introducing' new bands cos i listened to pendulum last year and to kill hannah but for some reason no mention of either till now and also 'introducing' I Killed The Prom Queen? what the hell was that about? i saw them last year before they split and kerrang didnt say mention anything for ages. they were an awsome band but kerrang should mention some more stuff on bands like As I Lay Dying, caliban who are awsome but never a mention of them, theres never any mention of Thursday who were an amazing support band to mcr. oh yeah and what about satyricon they're awsome too, get back to your roots, kerrang n less of mcr, fob, madina lake n elliot minor, i mean i listen to all those bands and like them but it's tiring seeing them in kerrang week in week out.
i mean i would be kinda glad if that april fools about fob splitting up was actually true but then again that would rid the scene kids fo their idol really.
just put in bands that are good and not overrated.

This Weeks K!

Normally, i dont bother buying K!. I egt about one issue a month, sometimes less than that. Can you blame me?

But this week i did buy it.

A7X are one of my fave bands.

Plus this week had Children Of Bodom, Meshuggah, BFMV, Every Time I Die etc, and i thought it was a good read.

But next week looks terrible. HIM are okay but why the hell are elliot minor in k!

Less emo and pop more proper stuff

Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir, As I Lay Dying, Lamb Of God, In Flames, Shadows Fall, Metallica, Down, Slipknot, Judas Priest, Cavelera Conspiracy, Opeth, Devil Driver etc

Thats what people want. Not You Me At Bloody Six!! Grrr

Right, firstly Panic at the disco, fall out boy and my chemical romance are NOT crap.

Secondly, no I am not emo or whatever you wanna label me, I also love A7x, Metallica and Nirvana

Furthermore if you wanna complain about how crap Kerrang! is go do it somewhere else, it makes you look like a dumbass if you do it on the site.

I understand that Kerrang! is reporting way too much on bands like FOB but you don't need to call them shit because of it, because there's always someone who will disagree with you.

Oh and lastly, I'm not a big fan of Elliot Minor, so if you gonna defend them DO NOT mention FOB and MCR because compared to them Elliot Minor suck.

Soo glad for this issue, M. Shadows vs. Matt Tuck have u seen them next to eachother, shadows makes tuck look wimpy cos of his humungous muscle bulging body, wow!
