Chris Cornell pulls out of Download

Chris Cornell, the velvety-voiced frontman of Soundgarden and Audioslave, has announced that he will no longer be appearing at Download 2008.

The vocalist is currently holed up in a studio recording his follow-up to his 2007 debut album Carry On with producer Timbaland, As a result, he has postponed his European tour which was due to start in Holland on May 31.

no way - totally over rated! Should have stayed in SoundGarden, Audio Slave is not as good as rage Against The Machine. Velvet Revolver needs a true front man with a lot of gusto!

Slipknot are a fucking joke of a band, listen to some real metal like Zyklon, Decapitated, Deicide, Nile or Emperor.

Tenacious D are much better than Slipknot because at least they don't take themselves seriously!

lets face it apart from the first audioslave album he hasn't done anything of any use since soundgarden. his last solo album wasa piece of shot and with timbaland producing his new one expect duets with beyonce and justin fagbitch timberlake. chris is officialy a fucking diva. pathetic.

Slipknot havent been around for ages
Why all of a sudden guys are expecting them to be headlining a show is too much.
There was a point when they could pack out any venue if they tried but meh, these days i think theyre more interested in side projects.
It was good for a while but i guess running around with masks on and being angry has its limits - though im looooooking forward to the new material before anyone fires me out the sky.

and do you know how many knot fans there are waitinbg for a tour

if they played the o2 it would sell out in record time
come to think of it any arena in the uk wuld sell out.

slipknot are no for download 2008 end of theyre doing reading and probally unholy alliance 3 with slayer nd manson at the end of the year.

possible things that could happen

every band on sunday gets moved up so making jimmy eat world the main replacement

black stone cherry(self confirmed) playing at 13.00 and 20.00 on sunday at download so....2 sets by them.

just someone else will come in for him in the next announcment on monday there are 12 bands going to be announced

man have you ever been to download

on friday there is 10 bands on main stage
and on saturday n sunday there is about 14 bands on it

at the moment thre is like 6 bands on each stage soo there is way more to be anounced for the main stage

on the second stage there is about the same but at the mo there is like 5 bands on them stages

soo there is way more than 12 more bands to be anounced

jimmy eat world arn't taking chrius cornells place

live nation are finding his replacement

look on download website chatrooms mate

theres tgalks of plenty of great bands and jimmy eat world isn't one of them

ps sorry for leaving soo many comments on this
but someone has to talk facts haha

download is in donnington in england has been since 2003. before that it was known under a load of different events sadly its nt like ozzfest could be though we do have enough football stadiums really

its a shame scott left vr an i think chris would be the PERFECT replacement i love his voice the audio slave stufff is soooo great he can do well kool slow bluesy songs and hard in ya face rocks songs and i think that would go hand in hand with velvet revolver

both will not play for definate

Enter Shikari have said the projeckt revolution show with linkin park will be their only UK show this summer

and as many people have said Slipknot will be finishin their album and have already been announced as an exclusive band (meaning they wont play any other UK festivals) at Reading/Leeds. They will more than likely headline next year
