Chinese Democracy WILL be released this year

Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose has finished work on the long-awaited album Chinese Democracy.

The band's label Geffen has confirmed they are in possession of the album - which cost a reported ú6.5 million to make - and are currently fleshing out an agreement with Rose over its release.

Looks like he wanted that free can of Dr Pepper!

first off...this is the first time geffen has said they have possession of the album..previously it was axl who has said there was a release date..

2nd geffen are tryin to get as much money as possible out of axl which is why this album has been delayed...

and also one of the reasons the album has taken so long is down to the martin luther king speech in the song 'madagascar'..as axl had stated he would scrap the whole album if he couldnt get permission to use the speech,so another reason he has taken so long..he just wants it to be the perfect album,nothin wrong with that..

an axl has done more in the last 20 years of his life, than everyone u know will do in a lifetime.

i dont even like the band but the album has been said its due release for maybe the past 5-6 years so who's to say that it will be out this year ? :P

well, its had so much hype, i guess the album will be good but every1 will say its crap since its supposed 2 be amazing.

cmon, they started work on it before i was born ffs! it better be gd.

Ive heard a few demos nd they r very good, so i really wanna have the album by Christmas. Please Axl, don't be a knob this time and delay another 12000 years!

IF this comes out it probably won't be any good at all. Well thats my opinion at least. I've not really heard that much of the new stuff they have, but I heard some stuff that they played live and ut sucked.

not gonna happen

its been ready for release for years. been in the making since 1993. been absolutely crap since then too. Slash quit Guns 'cuz Axl wanted to go techno. he's ruining one of the most famous name in rock n roll.
Its basically just Appetite for destruction with new instruments and musicians, plus he replaced two or three songs, so it has some hope.
Guns with techno just doesn't mix, he's ruined it forever now

Call me gullible, but I honestly believe that Chinese Democracy will be released this year. Admittedly, news seems to appear every year that Axl "has finished the album" and "it's only a matter of time" yet we never seem to get anything.

However, now the Martin Luther King speech has reportedly been sorted out for "Madagascar" I honestly believe that finally, we will get it. In early January, Beta (Axl's personal assistant) was quoted as saying "the album was finished before Christmas, everyone knows that". Despite nobody actually having any idea of this, never before have we seen SO many signs that the album is ready.

Be it an Axl press statement, on off-hand comment made by a band member, we have had several promises for several years that it's on its way but never before have all the signs seemed to tie in with one another. Now however, it seems to me that everything seems more official and more reasonable that some of the bullshit claims that we have had in the past. If you ask me, it's coming! After all, "Soon is the word...."

slash wrote the greatest gnr songs of all time and to be honest he wrote nearly them all. in fact i don't think axl did fuck all

slash wrote, sweet child, jungle, civil war, paradise city, nighttrain, patience

he wrote them all

so call me stupid i dnt call them gnr anymore

its just like axl on a solo carear man
with a backing band

it won't sound anything like gnr becuase it isn't gnr

so whats the fucking point

he spoilt it for himself

he could have went at the top with guns n roses the bigest band ever and no'one will replace them but now he is just a ginger prik with no respect for fucking anything

first of m8...slash didnt write all the songs..slash wrote the riff for sweet child o mine,and axl finished writing the rest of the song...look it up!..remember slash hated the song as he was only messing around untill axl heard the riff an decided to write the song..

2nd paradise city,its so easy was written by duff

dont cry,welcome to the jungle,november rain, plus nearly all the tracks was written by axl.

patience,used to love her,move to the city was written by Izzy.

Him an axl were the main song writers.

axl was the whole reason gnr got so big.

slash wrote the songs civil war,coma,rocket queen and mr brownstone.

when izzy left after recording the use your illusion albums....Gnr had lost one of their main songwriters which is why the band didnt record anythin else decent

I'm not going to judge this album before I've heard it, that's just ridiculous....

I may not be GNR biggest fan, but, of course, I do know and quite like a few of their songs, so I will certainly be interested to hear what they've been doing since something crazy like 1993...this album is as old as I am!!! Haha!!

Plus the ridiculous length of time its taken to make this album - Grunge was still an unknown word and the Spice girls hadn't formed when they last did something.

Olympics

Chinese Democracy was cleverly delayed to coincide with the Olympics in Beijing. Axl and geffen are very smart. There was a master plan all along...

B.S. aside, I'm looking forward to the album. Tabloid sensationalism and popular belief don't mean a thing.

The new G'n R have great musicians in the fold and I'm keeping an open mind to see what the album sounds like.
