Nickelback mainman Chad Kroeger will be spending more time in his 'hilltop houses' than driving his 'fifteen cars' for the next twelve months after a Canadian judge found the Rockstar singer guilty of drink driving.
However Kroeger was absent from court yesterday and his lawyer Marvin Stern said his client is currently in Europe, recording or producing music although he wasn't "exactly sure which".
Kroeger was pulled over for speeding in June 2006. At the time police claimed the singer blew over the .08 legal limit for alcohol (his reading was .14) and his $170,000 Lamborghini was impounded.
The minimum sentence on conviction is a $600 fine and a one-year driving ban. Judge Peder Gulbransen said he wants the singer in court for the sentencing on May 1.
His lawyer is expected to appeal the verdict.
