Velvet Revolver singer pleads not guilty

Lawyers for Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence of drugs in court in Los Angeles yesterday.

The singer, who faces up to a year in prison if found guilty because of a previous conviction, was arrested after refusing to take a sobriety test after being stopped by police in November last year following a crash on a Los Angeles freeway.

Weiland is currently free on $40,000 bail and is due to be in court for a pre-trial hearing on April 4.

Hope he gets off the prison sentence. I think scott is a really good person but if he did drive under the influence then he needs to get some sort of punishment. but good luck to him

I hope he rots in prison. If someone is so stupid he goes driving while under the influence when on parole he deserves to go to prison.

Weiland

I think Scott Weilan is an extremely talented frontman, however he needs to sort himself out. As his brother died of a heroin overdose, you'd think that might have been a wake-up call for him, especially as he has a young family to support. Good luck to him. x

I don't think they will reform any time soon, reading the Slash biography convinced me of that.

Pity, I saw them live a couple of times and when Axl did manage to grace us with his presence they where fucking awesome.

But to prove another point... drunk drivers or people driving under the influence dont tend to go to prison over here, they get bans. Just to prove my point.

Right.... People need to get over the fact Scott isnt Axl and isnt trying to be. He is an established rock frontman from STP, he isnt playing on the fame of other people.

Another thing.. this news didnt even mention Slash so how you got the fact he is a knob (correct spelling of your shitty attempt) i dont know. Im assuming you know him personally from your judgement... yep, thought not.

If Scott is guilty, by all means put him in prison.. but he wont be the only person ever to have committed a driving offence but not been jailed will he. Lets face it, it isnt just coz he is a rockstar, its coz people hardly ever get jailed for these sort of offences.

this is to the person who said i hope he doesnt cancel the uk tour! the date he is in court is the 4th april after the tour! if hes goin to prison he'll want the money so why would he cancel it? just means he wont be able to play the gig with stone temple pilots if he goes down for a year!
