You call this a worthy announcement, fucking hell mondays announcement best not be as shite as this i mean seriously ive listend to these bands this morning and tbh i wish i hadnt.
Why the fuck are we getting shitty scene/emo bands on the bill i know the festival is something for every one but this ya kno this is just shit. And before anyone sez its better than gettin repeat bookings I would gladly welcome repeat bookings with open arms coz this blows it really does. But i spose the majority of the lineup is still ok just no more shite announcements like this please

Whoopee-do

More bands announced - when I saw this I was expecting something decent, especially after the killer announcement of Throwdown and Black Dahlia Murder.

This is absolutely pointless. They're all practically the same, they'll probably get shoved onto the 3rd stage, further pushing out quality (British) bands who could make a real and lasting impression on that stage.

When are Download going to announce some top bands for this festival, and by that I mean the likes of legends such as Ministry, Biohazard and Testament, while on the lower stages get some proper acts who could slay the 3rd stage - High On Fire, Mastery, Hyades, Municipal Waste, Evile etc., and maybe a few more British acts (SSS, Gama Bomb, Sylosis, etc.) to show that some people still care about our national rock and metal scene.

The organisers need to open their ears and eyes and broaden their horizons, instead of subjecting us to this. I've already got my Download ticket and I guarantee you I won't be watching these bands - but at least announce some lower-level acts with real quality that might stir a bit of interest guys!

this is awsome news as ADTR fan, pretty stoked for this tour as all the bands are well worth checking out

Been a fan for well over a year and the boys final deserve some credit

Bac in January, ive never seen somemuch energy in a set from start to finish

As for people not liking theline up, dont go, its a rock festival and im liking the line up so far, it has

and what you should realise is Download is perhaps the only UK festival these bands have a chance of playing, the majority of fans speak for more than those you use this page will show this come June and just cos you dont like them, doesnt mean they shouldnt play.... theyve go tno where else to go :p

Alesana, are the worst scene band, it's the unholy abomination that would come if "old" the used got busy with aiden. It sounds like nails on a chalk board, and before any 14 year old gets their skinny's in a twist it's my opinion, I'm sure there are bands I love which you hate.

sorry i just want to clarify

ADTR arent unsgned and have two awsome albums (available now) and neither are Devil Wears Prada, i think

and plus how do you think bands got support before myspace and the like? but relentless touing and hard work, which surprise surprise we have a tour and a festival

these are only 3 bands and theres much more choice on offer over the 3 days in Donny....and if you dont like what you see, dont go, but you dont need me to say your missing out

All these people saying if you don't like it, don't go, its a rock festival, you don't have to watch them - fair enough, except that I've already got my ticket, and the festival can do up-and-coming British bands much more justice. Nex for starters - quality band from Huddersfield, their second album is coming out soon, based on their amazing debut album alone they deserve to play. Trigger The Bloodshed are an exceptional up-and-coming grindcore/death metal act, while Sworn Amongst - who you may remember got to the finals of that competition for unsigned bands to play Download one year, only to lose to the only emo/rock act in the competition - where are they now? - are bringing their debut album out soon.

And yes, these bands are all signed to the same label too - but there's a hell of a lot more variation and talent in there. Furthermore, they're all British - some this festival and this magazine has overlooked for far too long now.

I've heard these bands already and they're doing nothing that hasn't been done in the last 4 or 5 years. It does nothing to 'pump me up' as suggested in previous posts, a bit of creativity, a bit of wow factor is what's required in the next batch of bands - something with a killer riff or solo, something that hits you square in the face that you won't forget. These bands are instantly forgettable.

Anyone who says they're getting a ticket to Download based on these 3 bands is surely having a laugh - you go based on the heavy-hitters, the big guns like Kiss, like Judas Priest, like Motorhead, etc. If that doesn't float your boat, then save your money for this tour instead!

Download as a whole is starting to look alright to me, im most looking forward to Disturbed, favourite band ever, David draiman and dan donegan =legends to me! Motorhead, Alter bridge, coheed and cambria, JEW, Incubus, Lost prophets, rise against and in flames. I must admit though, its got to be one of the worst set of headliners ever. I mean, i like Lost Prophets, but they dont deserve to headline downoad, and well offspring Pffft! whatever!Kiss, yeah they are decent but well why not motorhead as the leged band? they are much much better.
As for rumoured bands, i sincerely hope that the disappointing sellouts of Trivium and BFMV do not make it..... I remember the days of them not sucking, and the days of the two Matts being gods. I used to think they had amazing voices, and well now they have just gone to much like metallica, who by, im scared are going to get announced soon! :( i boody hope they never do :)
Thankyou, and if you dont like my tastes or whatever, then just say it :), you will only look athetic if you bitch and whine " wot dik ed, yur taste in muzik iz well shit, im gonner fucking bang ya owt fucking jeb end, *insert highly publicised *emo* band name here* are the best band ever and if you dont like it then fuck off, im better than you, you stupid hater"... there ive done it for you :)

Just because its not the sort of thing you like doesnt mean you need to have a go about the other bands playing. Download is a festival for everyone, not just hardcore metalheads, and not everyone wants to be in a mosh pit. If you dont like it, go to a different gig.

I think this is when I have my A level exams. *sigh* oh well...next year I suppose. But I mean...I'm not bets pleased with the line but, but as people say, if I don't like the shitty emo bands then I don't have to go :). But I would like to, Jon Davis..gonna be bloody cool! The Offspring, Incubus...etc yeh those are good too :)

if you don't like these bands, then like has been said god knows how many times!
DON'T WATCH THEM!
there'll be other bands on at the same time.
and as for this whole "british metal" shit
who cares?
to be honest, atleast alot of people know tdwp maybe some people don't like them
BUT then again alot of people do, so it would probably sell more getting them there then some practically unknown british band.

personally i like all different types of music.
like you could go and put a grindcore band on like see you next tuesday, i'd be happy
or then again you could put slipknot on, i'd still be happy about it.
put some dance music on, i like dance music so i couldn't care.
i wouldn't miss tdwp, they'll probably make it for me.

so unlucky peter, no one really cares about your little rants about "BRITISH METAL" shove it up your ass :)

and while i'm hear i'm gonna quote you
"The organisers need to open their ears and eyes and broaden their horizons, instead of subjecting us to this."
so broadening their horizons is listening to music you want at download now is it?
what a stupid thing to say, so controversial.
they are putting a wide variety of music, not all to everybodies taste but still a wide variety.
kid rock, the subways, the black dahlia murder, the devil wears prada
you're telling me that they're all the same.
YOU MUST BE COMPLETELY RETARDED OR DEAF TO THINK THAT.

and as for this whole "emo/scene bands" bullshit...
no one really knows what "EMO" is anymore do they, everyone has misconstrued ideas of "EMO" these days.
so if you're going to go around calling bands "EMO" atleast label the right bands with the right genre you fucktards :)

download is crap

this years download IS A JOKE
i've always HATED download, but this year just proves that it's a load of overblown NONSENSE
there's only 5 gd bands going there
if i was going, i wud only be there for lostprophets, a day to remember and devil wears prada...and i wud also watch rise against and 36 crazyfists, then go home.
EVERYONE WHO HAS TICKET'S HAVE WASTED MONEY BIG TIME, HAHAHA.
