Ozzfest 2008 is strongly rumoured to be coming to the UK with a one-off show at London's 02 Arena on July 19.
Ozzy Osbourne, who begins a series a South American tour on March 30 with Korn and Black Label Society, looks set to headline the one-day extravaganza.
Last July, Ozzy's wife and manager Sharon Osbourne intimated that the original Black Sabbath line-up would top the festival bill during the US leg of Ozzfest 2008. However, Ozzy announced during a teleconference in October that his own band would be the festival headliners.
Although promoters and agents involved with the show are remaining tight-lipped, Kerrang! understands that other bands in the running are Killswitch Engage, Alice In Chains, Serj Tankian, Dimmu Borgir and Lacuna Coil.
Machine Head, Disturbed and Slipknot won't be involved as they'll be touring the US on the inaugural Project Mayhem Tour.
The travelling metal festival began in 1996 in the States and made its UK debut with a show at Milton Keynes Bowl in 1998 featuring sets from Foo Fighters, Pantera and Soulfly.
Last year's US Ozzfest made the brave move of making admission free of charge. Tickets were available through the sponsor website, the official Ozzfest website and those who bought advance copies of Ozzy's latest album Black Rain.
Ozzfest last hit the UK in 2005, where Black Sabbath, Velvet Revolver, HIM, Anthrax and Trivium played the main stage as part of Download 2005 at Donington Park.
Stay tuned for more information as and when it is confirmed.
