Metallica have announced they are to re-release their first four albums on vinyl while they finish work on their as-yet-untitled ninth studio album.
"We told the dudes at the record company we thought it might be cool to dust off the old tapes and get all retro," says procrastinating drummer Lars Ulrich.
1983's Kill 'Em All and 1984's Ride The Lightning will be released in April through the band's online store at www.metallica.com and 1986's Master Of Puppets and 1988's ...And Justice For All will follow in June.
