My Thoughts On This Week's K! Mag...

Okay lets go through it step by step.

Madina Lake cover feature - sounds interesting if it wasnt Madina Lake. I know there are quite a few readers wo like Madina Lake but please lay off them. I used to like them but K! mag has made me get absolutely sick of them. Feature them now and again, maybe a few ocver features a year, but there is far too many posters and features on them.

Linkin Park for sponsored K! gig. Sounds quite a good interview, so i'll leave you alone for that.

30STM new video - havent you done enough 30STM coverage? Ffs enough is enough.

Paramore deny split rumors. What rumours? Nobody heard them.

Iron Maiden are bets band ever and i like the tour diary feature, so good job K!

You barely cover Alkaline Trio and they're okay i suppose so i dont mind the 'Inside The Mind Of..' feature.

I love BFMV but i'd rather read interviews with some other bands ocnsidering you have had so many with them recently.

Are Fucked Up the best punk rock band in the world? NO, end of story. Have you completely forgot about the existence of other punk bands.

Finally, a feature on Gallows. I dont think we've had an actual feature since, the Machine Head and Trivium cover story.

Overall a pretty average issue. As always.

What i would like to know is what new has Madina Lake got to tell us? Has anything significant happened since last time we were told their life story. I am sure what ever in this article i have pretty much heard before. Im not against them in the slightest, i just find it annoying when i get the impression i am just reading the same thing 6 months later. Maybe you could find a band with something new to say and give them the main feature so i can find out something new instead.

Well

The reason ML are getting extreme coverage lately is because they just did the K! tour.
If you find Kerrang! too 'shitty' then go spend £4 on Rock Sound or get a subscription to Metal Hammer.
Don't fucking complain about to a bunch of editors, who frankly don't give a toss because this is what sells the magazine and gives them something to live off.
They have to print what the majority will buy: you can't please everyone.
So shut the fuck up.
And as for the people who look down on people who like Madina Lake: get over yourselves.
It's people like you who think you're God's gift that ruin it for everyone else by bottling bands and making other's feel shit about what they like which is not what music is about.
That's why we have different genres so everyone can like what they want.
At least Madina Lake are down to earth and when you meet them they're the nicest guys ever, unlike your 'hxc' bands like bring me the fucking horizon who would probably faint from effort from mustering a polite 'hello'.
For once, stop complaining and just don't buy the issue.

i cannot believe what i'm hearing! everywhere i go i here that damn Nickelback song!!!! what's worse is that even the chavs in my school are singing it!! i'm not a Nickelback fan, although Silver Side Up was a good album, but this song is everywhere!!! it's not even that good!!! it's not just like i can try to ignore it anymore. what creeps me out the most though, is that the music i normally like, seems to have crossed into their world. if this happens to bands what the hell do i listen to then?!!

'ML are always featured'...not ALWAYS
looking through the Kerrang! previous issues list, the bands that are (mainly)featured most are MCR (about 4!) n like Avenged Sevenfold and Linkin Park n stuff n ML have only be on the covered like TWICE!
and anyway, there cant b a feature on ur bands every single week! coz not every1 likes ur musik!!!

Lets face it, Kerrang! is a music magazine, which tries to cover such a wide range of bands, that it probably actually gets less sales.

I mainly like metal but i dont mind some of those 'emo' bands. However, if it just featured rock bands, or just metal bands, or just 'emo' bands it would probably get more sales, and you wouldnt have lods of readers going mad about whose on the cover of each issue.

Not judging anyone who reads this but you know the music that appears in here is just pop music for a niche market. Not that theres anything wrong with that but if you claim that either Medina Lake or My Chemical romance are original tallented musicians your wrong. I agree with people like pip, 95% of the bands featured in Kerrang, and adored by kerrang readers are nothing but cookie cutter, generic pop bands created to appeal to a niche market of young people who consider themselves to be 'alternative'. I dont meen to sound condescending, but if you think these bands have original talent, you are sadly ignorant of the truth, but its kl....you dont know any better. You will find the music eventually. But at least your on the right page, you could be listening to rap!!

I for one have listened to all those bands, they're nothing special at all. They're not pop-punk sell outs, granted. They're just very dull musically.

I agree with you about insulting people just because they like other bands. We're all entitled to our own opinions on what is good music and what isn't. If we all liked the same bands, then everyone would be complaining that they'd become too popular. Y'just can't win in this world with some people.

MCR are a fantastic brand they appeal to the relevant market and you buy it. You feel like your within a little group, crew or clique. These bands are nothing but music and money, there is no selling out as they never had any ethos or morals to begin with. Yes, their music is cathy and appealing because they follow the suitable connotations to sell their products. At least Against me! has the guts to admit it. Can we get some [spunge], caddies, beatsteaks, sublime, leftover crack, public enemy and spice girls in, baby spice is hot still! Unless it won't sell enough magazines I will understand kerrang is just an institution like anyother it needs to get by. NME might go bankrupt, oh well.
Has anyone read fear and loathing in las vegas? I'm going to go now.
Note listen to MCR if they make you happy i'm going to carry on giving money bands that need to make it into this magazine otherwise you won't pay any attention to them. Enjoy your music the stuff that you are listening to is only to enjoy. Good bye, aren't these medina lake clever guys as well following suitable connotations so you buy, its so clever. You'll get it sussed one day. I challenge kerrang to put the other bands in.

Their not shit, their a group of kids who make music. Sian they are in K! as their label has poured alot of money into promoting the band and so a hype is created after this K! realise that they can make money off these guys by publicicing them on to the front cover.
This is why you don't see [spunge], mad caddies on the front because it wouldn't generate enough capital.
I'm sure they are good live, but i still think that if you don't take a pich of salt your going to end up as ignorant as the rest. Which isn't too bad ignorance is bliss. I have listened to all of their stuff my 12 year old sister has their album and she has already binned it.

I love Madina Lake so much, they were fucking amazing live at the Kerrang! tour at Brixton Academy, I went to that and fucking met Herman Li and Sam Totman. Best night of my life. The only thing I regret was not sending the pics of us with the guys to Kerrang! so we might've been published.
We were one metre away from Nathan and it was amazing! Dan smashed up a guitar on stage and fuck me what an amazing concert. Kerrang is fucking awesomeeeee. xo
