Become a Guitar Hero character!

Ever dreamt of living the life of Rock & Roll stardom? Those days may now be closer than you think, with a new Guitar Hero contest that gives you the chance to be immortalized when you visit www.releaseyourrockstar.com.

From now through June 13th, 2008, consumers can submit a video of themselves either playing Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock or rocking out to an air guitar performance for the opportunity to become a character in an upcoming Guitar Hero game.

The winner of the competition will be chosen by rock legend, Lemmy from Motorhead, and flown to Los Angeles for a special motion capture session for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see their image and likeness in a video game.

Additionally, two lucky runners up will have the chance to hang out with Irish rockers, The Answer, during a recording session for their upcoming album. Other entrants will have the chance to win other prizes, such as Addict clothing, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock video games and an Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Gamers can also check out an exclusive vodcast of The Answer, who will talk them through the contest rules available on the site.

To kick start the competition an exclusive video showcasing some of the funniest and most outrageous Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock performances is now available on www.releaseyourrockstar.com. The performances show a man who built a rather surprising rig in his shed, so check it out now!

The site will also be updated regularly with a montage of the best new entries to date, so remember to check back to see if you made the grade.
