30 Seconds to Scotland

30 Seconds To Mars, who are hadlining the K!-sponsored Give It A Name festival at London's Earls Court on Saturday May 10 and at Sheffield's Arena on Sunday May 11, have announced a one-off show in Edinburgh on May 9.

The band will play the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. Tickets are on sale now from www.aloud.com.

If you don't like 30stm, don't click on the freakin link to the news story? Go read about a band that you like and spend your time productively. You've clicked on a 30stm link looking for a fight over the internet, that's way more pathetic than anything you can say about these fans.

Secondly, Jared is a frontman to a band. He has every right to be in his band's videos. That's like saying now that Gerard Way is famous, he shouldn't be in MCR videos. It doesn't make sense. Or that Gerard Way should write his comics under a different name because he's famous for doing something else. Jared has every right to be in his band's videos, because he's proud of the music he's made.

And maybe their videos look like feature film trailers because that's the style they like? Jeez. How many videos lately look like feature films? That's just what's working for bands just now.

firstly, if you dont like 30stm then dont comment cos quite frankly no one cares, all i ever seem to read is info on how 30 stm are shit and blah de fucking blah. secondly, every show that 30stm have done recently has been a sell-out and i dont think edinburgh will be much different. I think they are a hard working band (especially with leto being an actor and the fact that Matt Wachter left.) I have been to 3 30stm gigs and everyone has been great and im looking forward to the edinburgh gig just as much so please... stop commenting on how bad you think they are and start paying attention to the bands you do like cos i'm sure your time is better wasted there than in a forum full of 30stm fans!

ive never got that. noramlly in kerrang its coz its a reporter who blatantly hates them n just comments oon leto being and actor onstage....where as if it were any1 else they just say what a great show they put on!
actually the last 2 review have been 3/5 and 4/5. so not toally bad!

they do not always get bad live reviews, they were late for the dublin show becaues the bad weather held the ferry up! so dont go talking BS, tickets are cheap as fuck i bought mine for £13 each if thats expensive i'd love to see what you class as 'cheap' they were on time for the shows i went to.

i too agree with what NATE says about Kerrang! I think it has lost its original value and meaning and i too believe that this "emo craze" has gone too far. Although i have a 30stm tattoo i do believe that true metal/rock bands do not always get the credit they deserve, nevertheless i defend 30stm when i say that their music is what matters, not people love or hate for leto.

The smallest rant in the world

Just a couple of tiny points.
1) Emo has got it's own genre now, just like Indie. Does anyone remember what Indie originally meant? Inpedendent. I.e. the band did not have a record label. Emo is emotional. Emotional music. Music that makes you feel emotional. I defy anyone not to feel a little heartbreak when Jared sings 'goodbye' in a Modern Myth. He is clearly talking about pain.
2) Their tickets are no way expensive. Celine Dion and Cher are selling their tickets for at LEAST £100 and that's not even near the stage. What bands like 30stm do, is they sell their tickets at an affordable price because they realise that their TRUE fans may not have the capability to afford £40, £50 for a ticket.
3) They are late for a REASON. They go out before EACH gig to say hello to their fans. In Liverpool they set up a signing table before AND after their gig. How many bands nowadays do this?
4) Finally. They do not always get bad reviews. I remember not particularly long ago, Kerrang! gave them an excellent review. So, please learn to be a bit more discerning in your opinions before you start saying 'Emo is crap. 30stm are crap' *imagine a voice very similar to Kevin and Perry.

Publiscity Stunt?! WTF

I saw them live at brixton a couple of weeks ago with a large group of freinds.
Not only were they amazing but at that point i had no idea Jared was an actor. Personally, i doubt that many of 30stm' younger fans knew he was an actor either.
He is an amazing musician in an amazing band who are amazing live + the tickets cost me £15 for front standing.

They are NOT a publicity stunt and even if they were i would Not car as they are a terrific band who i thoroughly enjoy listening to.

Why Edinburgh?

Edinburgh sucks, and is full of pretentious toffs and crackheads. Should be playing in Glasgow, Scotlands real No1 city, and by far the best for music, culture, fashion and stabbings. lol

Seriously, Im only kidding really, Edinburgh is ok (if you like tweed jackets)...just dont understand why they are playing there, F.O.B did it too...the yanks obv dont kno about the glasgow music scene...its only the biggest in the uk right now! Oh well. Still get all the best bands here, they're missing out.

Lay off these type of bands

I think people who send criticle comments about bands are just sad pathetic losers who have nothing better to do, Im a devoted MCR fan and i also like bands like 30stm aand i think its out of order for these heavy metal fans to critisice our bands just because there soo full of themselves they dont acctualy listen to the music...

To the person who wrote about 30stm charging the fans too much for tickets anf stuff i have to say..
your not the ones paying for the tickets so leave it, if it was band like slipknot or whatever youd pay more for there tickets wouldnt you..? so leave it ...

you know, people who don't like 30 stm are usually people who have judged them on the songs The Kill, From
Yesterday and A Beautiful Lie.

Unfortunately these are definately NOT their best songs. They are okay, but not that great.

check out the stuff on their 1st album, and a few songs on their second. you know, the stuff that hasn't been released as singles. Also check out how much they love their fansYou'll see why they have so many fans(including me).

this comment was for people who think they don't like 30 stm by the way. I just think its unfair to dislike a band if you don't know much about them.

If you don't like a fucking band then don't comment on their articles, simple as. It just causes pointless internet arguing with people you've never even met. Its not a big deal. Bands like 30STM are not dictating your lives in any way whatsoever, so stop whining that there's "no good music anymore" coz there is.
