Trivium gear-up to record new album

Florida metal titans Trivium have reportedly demoed 20 songs for their up-coming as-yet-untitled new album, which is slated for world-wide release in the autumn.

"We've NEVER recorded this many songs for an album. Ever!!!," says frontman Matthew K. heafy in his online blog. "These have been the most extensive demos we have ever done, before we'd merely just do a quick demo of the songs we were to record for the upcoming album. This time we wrote it, re-wrote it, worked and arranged, recorded and re-recorded so its gonna be good."

"We're so happy with the new material," he continues. "It's our strongest material to date; it encompasses everything that is Trivium to the four of us. Anyway, we miss you all, have fun doing whatever it is your doin' and we'll try to get this thing out to you as soon as possible."

Hope it'll be better than The Crusade

Unfortunately, except with the help of a miracle, there is no way they are going to get better than Ascendancy or Ember to Inferno.

stop slating the crusade!!!
ok it was a bit of a change from ascendancy, but tbf the guitar etc is far more creative and diverse compared to ascendancy. like the track 'the crusade' - its amazing and really shows their talent.
plus people need to be a little more open minded about the vocals - but it does bother me thats its more mainstream radio friendly.
a mix of styles between ascendancy and the crusade wud make a pretty epic record tho.
thats what im hopin'.

I heard that they are keeping there thrash sound but bringing back some screams a yells into this new album i cant wait for it and I have a feeling that this album will be up with Ascendancy it is and amazing album and there best so far I love trivium and cant wait for this new album

I hop it carries on evolving the band, bands like Trivium and Bullet get a load of crap thrown at them, I like them, if they changed a way I didn't like, I would just NOT listen to them!!!!!! If it upsets you that much, You form a band and do better!!!!!

The Crusade was alright - it was good but not GREAT as Ascendancy :p

But yeah it had it's moments, here's hoping the new album is an improvement (Y)

I hope these songs are a lot better than the crusade album.

When I heard Trivium's first 2 albums, i was really blown away at how brilliant they were. The combination of the powerful riffs, screaming and singing was awesome

but then i heard the crusade and was just like "what the hell happened here?!" They're just trying too hard to be like Metallica. You can hear Matt's singing voice and accent is trying to be like James Hetfield.

They should stop trying to be like their favourite band of all time and just play their own stuff. That's the reason why everyone liked them in the first place-they stood out. The crusade just sent them downhill

i think the main problem with the crusade was that it was too different from their other albums, i know that bands change but compared to ascendancy the crusade is totally different, and i actually find some of the songs on the crusade a bit boring and slow, not the full metal onslaught of stuff like pull harder... hopefully they will go back to their old style, matt heafy can sing now but they can still do metal like they used to but with singing, they dont have to get calmer

Well...

I think that Trivium have the potential to come back again with another good album.
The Crusade, Ember to Inferno and Ascendancy were all awesome albums and I think that with recording 20 songs for the new album that they'll do very well.

i don't even think acendancy was that brillient! it was good, but i think all the hype got to them! just your average metal band tbh along with bullet
