Paramore to split?

Tennessee rockers Paramore, who postponed their current European tour earlier this week, have issued an update via their online blog saying that they needed to take some time out to "work out our personal issues at home" on their own terms.

"There are a lot of internal issues that have been going on in this band for quite a while now," the statement says. "A lot of it started right around the time we were gearing up for the Riot! Tour in the US."

"Maybe one day we will tell the whole story but for now, just know that all five of us are going to work so hard to get it right," the statement continues.

Fingers crossed they'll be able to work it out! The full statement is below:

"Hey guys,

"As most of you already know, we have cancelled the rest of our UK/Europe Riot! Tour. First of all, we want to say we are so sorry for letting all of you down. We feel terrible about it and really didn't expect for this to happen. It probably doesn't sound like much but we just hate that we won't get to play this show for those of you who had hoped to see it.

"There are a lot of internal issues that have been going on in this band for quite a while now. A lot of it started right around the time we were gearing up for the Riot! Tour in the US. We were able to fight through all of it for this long but unfortunately we weren't able to keep it together long enough to make it through 'til the end of this tour. We really feel that taking this time is going to give us a chance to get away and work out our personal issues at home and on our own terms. We just aren't willing to risk the life of our band over one tour. That probably sounds terrible right now, to say that finishing a week of shows wasn't worth it... but if we can use this next month wisely then we will be a lot healthier for the tours ahead. We hope that - even though it might be hard to understand - that you guys can support us at this time.

"Maybe one day we will tell the whole story but for now, just know that all five of us are going to work so hard to get it right. You deserve that and we deserve to make this last as long as possible - and to enjoy every second of it. We love you guys so much. If you could pray for us or just keep us in your thoughts it would be really helpful. You guys have gotten us so far and been the best motivators since day one. We are so sorry for the trouble we caused you guys who bought tickets, fan club members and to all the promoters and venues that we won't be there to put on a show for. We are extremely sorry to New Found Glory and all their fans who wanted to put on and see a show and who we've let down. And lastly, to Lost Alone.

I'm a pretty big Paramore fan but this comment is something else. I wouldn't say Paramore were/are "ONE OF THE BIGGEST AND BEST BANDS IN THE INTIRE WORLD". It's just not true. As good as they are and as hott as Hayley is, it just won't happen.
Comments like that are what I expect to see on YouTube when someone has said something just to take the piss =)

i've been a fan of paramore for three years now and i love em to bits but i think everyone is reading into this a bit too much they just need a holiday and some time off to relax and hang out without the pressures of touring.

Their record company certainly don't think they're gonna break up so we shouldn't worry over it.

in reply to someone who near the top said parmore had loadsa talent im sorry to tell them they havent if u look at the basic strucutre of all their songs they are all the same with just stabbing guitars listent to every song all it is is the same old tired formula over and over, i liked them at first and saw them at download last year(mainly becuase hayley is fit) and i gotta say i hope they split coz im sick of the curretn trend of music get punk back!

since we posted the last entry, we’ve gotten tons of phone calls and people posting things on websites saying that we are breaking up. i just want to make it clear, though, that by posting two nights ago we weren’t saying the band was over. we posted because we are going through hard times and we felt that because we have a really good support system in you guys, our fans, it would be better for us to just be honest about what’s going on - even though, it was a pretty vague explanation. man, some of the rumors that i’ve heard going around are insane! it’s weird how out of hand things can get even when you just try to tell a simple truth. (for the record, my eggo is not preggo). anyway, we just need to take time to make this band the best it can be… and we are doing that now.

thank you for all the love and the encouragement you guys have shown. and WE WILL! be seeing you guys on the 27th of March in Orlando, FL

Why did you think they were splitting up, K!? I mean, they cancelled part of their tour and said they had to work our 'persona issues' or something, but until they actually say 'we're splitting up' (I hope that won't happen), I don't believe there's anything wrong with the band that they can't work out. And there isn't, according to their more recen website post.
Maybe takng a break will be good for them, I don't know, but I hope they sort it all out. =]
Oh yeah, as soon as I saw this I knew there would be loads of wonderfully intelligent hate comments for me to read here. Thanks for that, you immature, cowardly little people. If you don't like the band don't read about them, and don't upset their fans with your comments. Paramore aren't he best pop-punk bnd ever, I agree, but at least have a little rspect for them. You don't HAVE to like them, but no one ACTUALLY cares what you think anyway.

At the moment whats annoying me is the fact that this has been sorted out to a certain extent, and Hayley has apparantly posted a new blog (not going to waste my time reading it) and get there's still 'OMGASH PARAMORE CAN'TSPLIT !!!11oneone!!//!' comments all over the place. I mean, what?
Though I must say, I wouldn't mind much if they did split. Too be perfectly honest they aren't to my taste (mostly Metal and Punk all the way) and I'm rather sick of hearing Misery Business EVERYWHERE. That and Hayley has an ego to rival Gerard Ways. Okay, Everybody gets it. Some people love Paramore and some hate them.
Your opinion is yours.
I personally love Paramore but I wouldn't judge or argue with somebody who doesn't.
What I don't get though is this forum is supposed to be about the band cancelling the end of their tour, not about weather you like the band or not :|
It sucks that they have had to do it and it's slightly unfair that they haven't really explained why (apart from saying problems at home) but at least they have given their deepest sympathy to the fans who brought tickets to the cancelled shows.
I seriouslhy doubt they will spilt. I seen them live twice and they are an incredibly solid band together.
Just hope everything gets sorted and everyone gets their money back for their tickets.

Despite their protests, I can't help but sense a Blink-182-esque situation on out hands. Or Evanescence...but I'm sure that's the last band they want to be compared to (not saying anything bad about Evanescence, I actually love them).
And guys - don't get mad just cos they canceled a few gigs. Imagine what it would have been like if they had played the gigs...fighting onstage is not a good image.
I hate to brink Blink back into the situation, but they're the only modern band that I can think of that split up with no apparent warning. Imagine if Blink kept on at it, not enjoying it - the fun would be totally sapped out of their music. They'd fight constantly, they just wouldn't be the band you know and love. They split up rehearsing for the Tsunami Aid Concert - what if they had fought at it, and it ruined their career? Sometimes it's just better for your reputation, your band's quality and long term happiness to give up before something serious can happen.

I don't know why there are so many immature people on here and obviously can't spell. One thing, which is besides the point of my comment really, why are the people who are slating Paramore reading the news article in the first place? If they are just so they can write negative comments isn't it about time they got a life?

The relevant part of my comment is that I think Paramore are doing the right thing now which will benefit them in the long run. As they said it will "make them healthier for the next tours" is true. If they work out the problem now, there won't , hopefully, be another one. No disrespect to Paramore on my part at all for their decision and their music is pretty damn good too!

look i see where y'all comin from but i dnt understand why u wanna slag a band off because u dnt like them. Yea, u mite nt like them, but others do. Other people wont like ure music... Its a fact.

I think theyre gd, and i understand why some people dont like them. Im pissed off too that theyve cancelled cos i was ment to be goin 2 nottingham to watch them on the 27th.

But second to last paragraph, could you be any more insulting? You are singling out people who don't like a band you like and stereotyping them.

Perfectly said. I hate Paramore, I'll be straight up honest about it. Can't say that I'm "NOT AS GUD AS THAY ARE" because I can guarantee you I could outplay any of the musicians on any of those instruments. HOWEVER, I will give them some credit, the musicians aren't terrible at all; they know how to handle the instruments for their style of music, and that's what matters. I do NOT like the fact that it's so ridiculously centered around Hayley, that fact really pisses me off.

All in all, seriously, people, it's one thing to say you love or hate a band, and hey that's all fine and dandy. I love, let's say, Opeth, and I hate Paramore. Someone else could ADORE Paramore and hate Opeth, for example again. Doesn't make them "JELOS FUCKUPS WHO R 2 STUPID 2 APRECIAT GUD MUSIC" people, it's just different tastes in different music.


AND SERIOUSLY, PEOPLE. If you're going to support or criticize people and/or their opinions, BE A LITTLE LESS LIKE A NEANDERTHAL IN YOUR COMMUNICATION.

the band is gr8 i love the musci i only started listen when the 2nd album came out but then that was it i listen to them all there time. their a good band with good music and i dont want them to split but if they do they will have their reasons. they are the first band in a long time to come out with good music and good consitancy, but hey everyone falls down at one point. they will be back id put money on it.

They won't split, they're just realising how bad touring can get. I loved their 1st album, the 2nd was such a dissapointment. As for them headlining GIAN thats ridiculous, they're only that big due to exposure, and that headlining spot should be given to a band who have proved themselves through relentless tours and solid albums

touring is part and parcel of being in a band, even one as dull and predictable as paramore, and if its all a bit too much for them to take then they really should be doing something else with their lives instead of short changing the fans they apparently love.

I think it's disgusting that people think that the frontperson always has to be the singer. Like, wtf? So they're the singer, that means they do the most work, that their job is harder than everyone elses, that they deserve more attention just because they're the vocals? No, I don't think so. Roles in a band should be evenly spread out. Hayley might be lovely but she needs to realise that her bandmates should get just as much attention as her if she wants the band to work.

No paramore do not rule the World, and No they are not the best band in the world, But there not shit either, i have both there albums and im a fan of theres, i wouldnt not go to a gig of theres though, and i will not go out of my way to slag them off. the thing that gets me is, i like LOTS of music such as trivium, escape the fate, the blackout, gojira, architects etc... but i also like hellogoodbyem houston calls, halifax, rediscover, i was a cub scout, rolo tomassi and so on......theres alot of different genres there and it pisses me off when people come on and slag off bands, if they dont like them SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!! dont even waist your breath it pathetic and childish. music is supposed to be something to enjoy not a fucking hate mob, all i ever hear is " omfggg you like texas is the reason dirrtty emoo" YET i like other bands that are not emo...WTF just because i like music i must be labelled....NO! also the point im trying to make here is that its fucking pathetic to see people slagging off other bands, if you dont like the band dont even comment on here, ,

im a fan of paramore and its horrible thinking that a band that have inspried and amaze me of the last year or so and its sucks to know that they're having difficults with each other
