The 50th annual Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles last night, and while the rest of the British media are fawning over Amy Winehouse's five Grammy gongs, we thought we'd give you a rundown of the more rocking bands on the bill...
Bon Jovi, Daughtry and Plain white T's lost out to Maroon 5 in the Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals category, and Bon Jovi's latest album, Lost Highway, also lost out (this time to Amy Winehouse) in the Best Pop Vocal Album category.
Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant fended off tough competition from Beyonce and Shakira and Tony Bennett and Christina Aguilera to pick up the Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals award for his duet with country singer Alison Krauss.
The White Stripes' single, Icky Thump, beat Daughtry, Green Day, Nickelback and U2 to the Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals award. The White Stripes also notched up the Best Alternative Music Album for the album of the same name, but lost out to Bruce Springsteen in the Best Rock Song category.
Machine Head, Shadows Fall, As I Lay Dying and King Diamond lost out in the Best Metal Performance category when Slayer walked away with the award for Final Six from their latest album Christ Illusion.
Foo Fighters picked up the first of two awards beating Evanescence, Ozzy Osbourne, Queens Of The Stone Age and Tool when The Pretender won them the Best Hard Rock Performance award. Dave Grohl and co also notched-up the Best Rock Album award for their latest album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace.
