This year's Kerrang!-sponsored Download festival will take place the weekend of June 13 to June 15 and will be headlined by Welsh rockers Lostprophets, Orange County punkers The Offspring and one other legendary rock band TBC!

Other bands confirmed for this year's festival include metal gods Judas Priest and Finnish love metallers HIM.

Stay tuned to Kerrang! dot com tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) at 4PM GMT when we will be announcing the fnal headliner and at 7:30PM for another two bands who will be playing Britain’s biggest and best rock festival.

Tickets for Download 2008 will go on sale on February 8 at 9AM. Prices are as follows: a full weekend ticket: £130, standard camping: £20, camper van: £40, family zone camping: £20, lockers: £11, parking £10 in advance or £15 on the day. There will be a variety of ticket packages available to buy, including the RIP packages (a VIP package) from £315. For Club or VIP Experience packages, please call 020 7009 3484 to discuss your requirements.

I personally love all of those bands (bar HIM), but I think alot of XCORE MEGALOLZ!!!!! metalheads aren't gonna be happy about this. Lostprophets will no doubt get the same reception My Chemical Romance had last year. Can't wait to see them though, they're one of my favorite live bands! :-D

i dunno, a month ago, ivowed never to listen or speak of lostprophets ever again. i relised that their music meant NOTHING to me anymore. i got into better things like Thursday and Silverstein and Dillinger and had this all ahppned at download lassst year,,, it would have been great, mcr AND lp's

Download has been a metal festival for yearssssssss and there is very very very few metal acts that stand out these days and iron maiden can headline only so many fucking times.
So get over it, mainland europe has some stupidly brilliant metal festivals for a fraction of the price and your all still moaning about how this years not hard enough =/
I know change is hard and i know a few bands out there are getting by on make up and bar chords but seriously, lostprophets arent that bad, they suprised me live like ffaf did when supporting maiden.
jeeeees no wonder why kids still think bullet for my valentine and a7x is cool, half of you are still stuck in hair metal =/

The SHITTY download headliners?

Ffs, didnt you guys learn your lesson when you had MCR headline? God, Lost Prophets and The Offspring. You should have new people organising download man. The only way to rectify this situation is to have Metallica be the third headliners?

I'll bet otherwise Jeffoy, i'll be a tenner richer! It was leaked earlier by kerrang that Kiss are the third headliners. And Download has NEVER been a Metal Fest and never has been to anyone who says it is, hence it use to be called Monsters of ROCK and not Monsters of Metal

i have well varied taste rite
and i love lostpophets
but even i can tell thery're not a great choice
to headline download festival.
lets just hope there new album is a bit heavier/better.

Oh my god...Lostprophets and Offspring?? What kind of a fucking line up is that??? You've had the likes of Iron Maiden and Guns N' Roses headlining Download but now your fucking the whole point of the festival up by letting bands like these headline!? What the hell has happened over the past decade or two? We used to have some killer bands headline Download but now your getting fucking pop pussies to do it? If you ask me all the 'rock' festivals around here are just turning into poppy emo type festivals. Its just pathetic...

No way! God I'm well pissed off now! I clicked on the myspace link to this thinking the line-up would be amazing. I thought Download might have finally learnt their lesson for having emo shite headline last year, but what do I end up seeing?? A PATHETIC, SCENY, EMO SHITE line-up!!! Its really just gotten WORSE from last year! At least Iron Maiden headlined last year, despite the fact MCR fucking headlined aswell. What happened to all the classics?? Metallica, Iron Maiden, GnR, AC/DC??????????????? What the fuck is this pussie line up?? God...its times like these I wish I'd been alive in the 80s, when REAL music existed and REAL killer bands headlined Download!
