Download: Four more acts confirmed!

It's Monday night, it's 10PM (well, 9:55ish) and that can only mean one thing: K! dot com have got some more Download bands for you!

And joining the bill will be (drum roll please)... Alterbridge, Disturbed, In Flames and Incubus!

"On behalf of Alter Bridge, I'd like to say that it is a huge honour to share the stage with so many great bands at the Download Festival," Myles Kennedy from the band told Kerrang! dot com. "But, even more importantly, we look forward to re-connecting with old and new fans alike. The Download Festival is always one of the highlights of our year."

"We are honoured and are looking forward to sharing the stage with so many bands we respect and admire, and playing to one of the most rabid crowds in existence," gushes Disturbed's ever chirpy David Draiman.

In Flames frontman Anders Friden is equally excited: "We are really happy to play Download again!" he tells K! "We played 2006 and that was an amazing show, such a great day. We are really looking forward to doing it again"

And, needless to say, Incubus can't wait to get back to the UK either:

"I am really excited about the Download festival!" grins frontman Brandon Boyd "Summer festivals are always a highlight for us; seeing other bands, watching lots of people get along, open and creative atmospheres, nudity, sun burns, drugs, grass stains, overly priced merchandise, drugs, nudity, public urinals and mud. What's not to enjoy? But honestly, we really like it."

Also on the bill are headliners Kiss, The Offspring and Lostprophets plus HIM, Judas Priest, Motorhead and Rise Against.

The Download festival takes place the weekend of June 13 to June 15. Tickets are on sale now. Prices are as follows: a full weekend ticket: £130, standard camping: £20, camper van: £40, family zone camping: £20, lockers: £11, parking £10 in advance or £15 on the day. There will be a variety of ticket packages available to buy, including the RIP packages (a VIP package) from £315. Both Alter Bridge and In Flames were brilliant in '06... Anders' flaming of the swedish football team was a highlight, had to laugh.

It just aint METAL!!!

Im soooo not going to Donnigton this year. There just aint enough good bands (IMO) to warrant the outlay of £160. Well, more than that when you factor in food, drink, merch and other various expenses.
What happened to this festival? I have been every single year since 1987 when I attended as a fresh faced 14 year old!
It'll be the first time I dont go. Its a shame. I used to love this festival. Download? It'll always be Donnington to me.
Oh and it should've been Machine Head, Slipknot, Children of Bodom, bands like that announced. Not Alter Bridge! Are you kidding?

you say you aint going download because the first 9 bands out of a hundred bands playing are not good enough!!! why cant we all have patience and wait till at least 30 acts are announced to play. then make a judgement!! so what if the headliners arent great. the problem is the record companies go you can have these 10 metal bands but only if this alt-rock band plays high up cus they need publicity! thats how it works!!

it used to be donnington and apart from kiss on the bill ,download is crap. death metal etc. what a load of crap!i've seen ac-dc , kiss, van halen, g'n'roses etc. from 1981 up to end of 1980's.then the wannabe's started taking over. £160 i don't think so.why can't you go one day also. Bring back proper heavy rock bands, or at least talented rock ie. the killers, morrissey etc. thats me done, thanks!

Please with the announcement - except for Stincubus - but can't Kerrang wait in line with with actual Download festival website to announce the bands - last year I looked forward to coming into work on Wednesday morning, finding out who was playing - now there seems to be a mentality where the fans don't like surprises and don't like to wait, whereas Kerrang simply want to say 'look at us, we've got the exclusive'. Stop jumping the gun each and every week! I'd rather find out from Download Festival website then have you lot preening yourselves over your 'scoop'.

If you don't like the bands that have been announced so far - who cares? Just don't go! There's still loads of bands still to be announced (Fingers crossed for Slipknot!!) so why don't you just wait and see what happens before crying about the few bands that have been announced?

No matter who they put on the line up, there's no way they can please everybody. No-one's is forcing anyone to go see a band they don't like.

Last time i checked this was an open site.

If people like machine head and slipknot, or any other band for that matter, they're entitled to hope for them to play the festival regardless of whether they're playing another fest or not!

Well, the line up is a little bad. I'm not sure about anyone else. But where I live EVERYONE hates Fall out boy as much as mcr. Does that mean it will happen again like last year? haha. Funny times.
I dunno if they have been anncounced on here. But they said it on Radio one the other day.

So far a shit line up, the three headliners are utter wank where,s slipnot, sick of it all, lamb of god, madball, agnostic front, machine head, god forbid, most precious blood, bloodsimple, electric eel shock, down, viking skull, municipal waste, backyard babies, himsa, chiamira,megadeth,rage against the machine, ac/dc, gallows, slayer, even a bit of ska like reel big fish, and download wouldn't be the same without the awsome DEVILDRIVER...
