I have the strem on my myspace and listening to it has made me pre-order the album, I think it is alright because the strem is not the full songs, only previews of it, just to entice you in.
Love them and can't wait for the new album.

Bullet For My Valentine

I think Bullet For My Valentine are amazing but i think that they should have only released a few songs off their album online so people will buy their album for the other songs instead of just listening to them all on myspace.

I don't see what the problem is in all fairness. I mean how many people actually go out and BUY the cd in a shop? Everything is downloaded and file shared these days so doesnt really matter. And at least you have more choice of BFMV songs to put on your profile.

Buy a CD?

I actually bother to buy CD's if they are good. The simple reason being that if you have spent a few grand on a HiFi you won't want to run an mp3 through it - they sound terrible.

I think it's a great idea, they have nothing to lose. So many other bands have put their music online and still sold albums. Bullet For My Valentine are already a big enough band now, they don't need to worry in my opinion. Fans will be lovin' it!!

I think that it's good. Not AS good as The Poison, but I think it's rather ok. 'Scream, Aim, Fire' has to be one of the best songs released so far from Bullet.

Why not?

Loads of bands do it, it's a good way to let your fans hear your new stuff before it's out, as well as potential new fans etc, and Myspace is an extremely useful tool in this industry with it being cheap and horrendously easy to upload your music. Exploit it's facilities all you can, I say.

It's a very weak Metal tbh, they are trying to hard to please too many crowds. They should focus down on something unique instead of trying to mix up everything...resulting in shit.

Bullet For My Valentine?

I personally didn't like the new album, especially when played straight after The Poison. It almost always seemed oversung, strenuous and was quite a challenge to listen to without getting annoyed at everything.
It might just be me, but there are so many bands out there doing a better version of the 'metal' genre, and this doesn't stand in good stead for Bullet. Surely they should have upped their game by now?

(Oh, and I don't think there was much problem with them myspace streaming it was there? Lets the fans know what crap they're about to buy when it hits the shelves.)

heard the first song they aint doin nothin different from these "metal" bands that are out these days. riffs sound like trivium who are awful.

personally metal today is a discrace and generic.

only the heavy hitters will survive eg Machine Head and Down

Come on the taster

its a pretty clever ploy to add their album to their myspace profile, look at the publicity its got already!? And yes, pbviously people are still going to buy the album, no one is gonna sit there for an hour and record it on Audacity and put up with listening to the crummy tin and trash can noises it produces on their iPod! HOW STUPID ARE YOU. Artists should choose to do what they want with their music and we should gladly comply otherwise they might get fed up and stop making. So don't spoil it for the res of us. Nice one Bullet :) Cant wait to buy the CD.

I'll be honest, I've listened to only about 2 or 3 of their new stuff, but nothing will ever beat Poison. It seems like they're now trying to become Metallica and the way Matt's singing now doesn't suit him. But that's just my opinion, so it doesn't really matter :/

Bullet - The New album

to be honest, it's a good album nothing more nothing less. They should focus on their heavier side because the thrashy songs on the album rule. Songs like 'Forever and Always', however, don't. They should leave the ballady stuff to the lieks of ffaf and fightstar who do it well. either way, they're on an upward spiral.
Up The Bullets!

Its not a bad idea, as it gives people a good chance to try before you buy. If it is a guess people will buy it anyway, saves annoying punters by selling a rubbish album and lets the choose whether they still want to by it or not.

Well, it just means, everyone goes on myspace, which makes myspace rich, no one buys they're album in hmv, hmv go out of business because of no sales, we all end up hooked on myspace, and then we all turn into cyber freaks, ofcourse!

NO! For crying out loud, how far has conformity gone? This album sounds like EVERYTHING ELSE...

...and to be honest, they already sounded like everyone else. The metal scene is dying because of this garbage, its only regurgitated riffs and melodies that have been used a thousand times by a thousand bands and its shameful.

but uploading the WHOLE album.
kinda piontless!
sometimes too much of something can be a bad thing (not that the songs are bad), but surely it would be better to upload small clips or one song?
thats why bands become bands...
so people will BUY they're albums!

Scream, Aim and Fire

I think Bullet For My Valentine's new album was so awesome! I know BFMV worked really hard on this album and so did Colin the producer and the 3 K's that they got for Scream, Aim and Fire from Kerrang was a load of bollocks! Basically the 3 K's they got was like a giant fuck you to all of their hard work which they do not derserve one fucking bit! Bullet have got world domination for fuck sake and you give them 3 K's! They are on the path to taking over the world and they have already taken over mine!! Bullet For My Valentine deserve everything they have apart from your shit 3 K's. I LOVE YOU BFMV!!!

Bullet For My Valentine album

It's up to them if they want to stream their album online, but they must know that people are inevitibly going to use this opportunity to try and save themselves from having to actually purchase the album. It's weird that the whole album is available to be listened to online, usually a couple of songs are online to give a taster of the complete album - maybe people will see this move by the band as innovative? obviously the band get their music to the ears of those who only listen online by making this move.

The big Q!

I think Bullets move to put there music online is a dumb one. I've got mates who can get there hands on the whole album now and well it means they are gonna loose money from not getting as many sells. Poor Bullet they're gonna learn the tough way.
Fuckin awsome album guys!!

And anyway, music streams on Myspace last about a year, albums you buy last forever.

Just buy a bloody CD!

I don't like it when people don't buy the CD's, instead they just download all the music the want. and CD's have so much more to them. Also, it's a shame, cause no ones bothering to buy CD's anymore, meaning a lot of small record shops are closing down, like the one down my street, Slipped Discs... still, I dunno, why everyone should make a fuss about this particular album being on myspace. Lots of bands have done it before. It's nothing new.
Shame though, still.

I dont think they should have streamed the WHOLE thing, might stop people going out and buying it. But yeah why not i guess people'll still buy it.

Bullet For My Valentine - Verdict

My verdict would be that they are bonkers!
Its great that they would allow their fans the chance to listen to the album early, but then there would be no point in buying the CD if you can just listen to it like that.
I could probably understand if they were 30 second clips, or even just disable the download (of course,) but this is just insane.
Sales would drop, as Myspace has millions of users, besides the fact that people download albums anyway! Do NOT do it!
I'd rather buy the CD! Show support they clearly deserve!

Can't wait to see them live on Feb 1st!

BFMV - crap review, good album

Firstly, let me just say that after reading the review of the album in this weeks mag (before listening to the entire album) i thought maybe the album wouldnt be as good as i expected. What i soon found is that the review was crap to say the least - is the reviewer just nameing grabbing bands because i dont see how he compared some songs as pop punk. Next year im going to by him '.. and justice for all' so he can go back and listen to 'one' - its obviously in a similar or same key - but it is different (if you want a rip-off look at triviums gunshot then maidens fear of the dark). Hearts and say goodbye do though through a curveball as they have been placed between heavy songs and just dont fit in when listening to the album as a whole. Iron maiden taking metallica/haemophilliac pig - what is this guy on. Sometimes it seems like some one bought him a thesaurus and he wants touse it. Finally, he complains about it not being the juggernaut he hoped for, but then complains that the intensity levels flag - make your fucking mind up!

Overall the album is good, a big improvement - the scream and clean vocals have been placed very well and is the sort of album wanted/expected.

Saving up to buy the CD and running home to play it straight away is what musics all about!

bullet for my metallicalentine

whats happened to matt tucks voice? it sounds shit and whiney.
theyve gone in 2 different directions, wannabe metallica, and emo ballads.
you can almost hear the cry of 'SELL OUTS' from all the true music fans out there.
the lyrics are nothing special atall and completely stocked up on unsubtle cliches such as 'Im always thinking of you, and all the things that you do' from the song 'take it out on me.
im not impressed really and i must say im starting to wonder whether theyre actually about the music or the fame and fortune

For Bullet to stream they're WHOLE album on myspace proves that they are 100% for the fans, and not in it for the money, too many bands these days are too obsessed with the money, that there music becomes shit and they try to impress the majority of people, instead of the dedicated fans.

Ohhh, remember the good ol' days?

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that you can get a taster of an album online before you purchase it in it's entirity. If it's used in this way, then great and it's got top marks for convenience.

However, there's nothing I like more than to pop down to a record/cd store and have a good mooch around. Yes, I agree that the internet helps many bands in getting there music out there and I must admit that I do use I-Tunes (mainly for exclusive ep's and b-sides). Practically all of the stuff on my ipod though comes from my own HUGE library of records/cd's. I literally have got whole cupboards dedicated to storing my music!

What I'm trying to say really is that there's no excitement anymore. You know that feeling that you get when you go to a record store and rummage around like a crazed lunatic until you've found that one album?

Some of you may, but a lot of you may not! Let's remember how fuckin' great that is, eh?

Yeah, Bullet are my favourite band and I love everything they do, even some of their 'weaker stuff'.

The streaming is a great idea, I started to listen to it and immediately ordered the CD. Even through computer speakers, Matt's voice screams out the lyrics with an insane beauty. If their aim is to get more people to buy the CD . . . it worked on me!

B4MV or Metallica?

I like the album, but I don't like knowing it is them. They have taken the path Trivium went, ditching all the best things about them (i.e. Screaming) and just made melodic guitar riffs, with the state of mind thinking they will be the next Metallica.

BFMV

I wasn't expecting much from BFMV since their last album had a massive mainstream pop sound to it (although it was still insanely good) - this time round it seems they've REALLY pulled their act together. Although the poppy influence is still present, they've certainly been listening to some old school bay area stuff. Good album if you ask me, if they evolve even more with their third album then they might even end up scrapping whatever they've been pigeonholed as nowadays and become a full-on thrash band. Lets hope so!

BFMV

I think it was a good idea, but ruined it for those fans who wanted to go out and buy the album and hear it firsthand after buying it. Rock on BFMV!
