Munky leaves Korn tour

Korn guitarist james 'Munky' Shaffer has left the band's current European tour which started in the Newcastle last night.

In an official statement, frontman Jonathan Davis said:

"We fully support Munky's need to be home right now and because we want to come through for all of our European fans, the tour will go on. It's what Munky wants us to do, too. We promise to give it our all every night!"

What about Fieldy? He was a founding member and is still in the band. This could easily be the end of Korn.

Still oke

Munky left because of illness of both himself and close family.

The drummer for this tour is Ray Luzier, who is absolutly amazing. Much better than David Silveria or Joey Jordison will ever be. Trust me.

The show in Newcastle was good, Korn will never dissapoint, even with different musicians, so all of you who are still going.. Don't worry!

Long setlist though, with a few songs I wouldn't have put on myself. Highlight was the adition of Fagget in the setlist. Was a few years ago since I last heard that one.

Flyleaf dissapointed this time.. Guitarist and drummer completely out of it on either drugs or just because of a jetlag. Hope for the rest of the people that see this tour that they lay off the funny stuff.

Yeah, as much as I'm indifferent to Korn these days I really think that shit is uncalled for. At best being an ill informed arsehole is just plain annoying (for the record it wasn't his Dad), and at worst trivialising what is essentially paedophila just makes you a shit human being. Seriously, grow up.

dude if you are going to talk shit to someone about their opinions, then at least learn how to write correctly. That way your own opinion comes across as somewhat intelligent instead of just making yourself look like a dickhead and a moron.

I hope its not like david silveria, where he says he just needs a break but really hes probably left for good. If this is the case they should throw in the towel call it a day.....

I agree, If he decides to leave for good they should call it a day. Dave Silveria apparently hasn't left for good though. He still needs time off although he was expected to rejoin in November and then again in February.

Korn

Saw them in Manchester last night and they were simply outstanding, a varied set including old favourites (each with a slight twist) and new ones, interesting to see the repetoire really broaden as songs like 'Ass itch' made an appearance. The covering guitarist was as tight as shit and the drummer was amazing. Its clear that this is not the end of Korn, people need to remember that after 14 years they have an astounding varied catalogue of songs and plenty of fuel to be going along with, Munky will be back, anyone who sees them will see that the energy level is at an all time high, much more than when I saw them in 2001.

Korn's support

Oh and as for the support, Deathstars were impressive if not a bit simple, well worth a look. Flyleaf on the other hand were downright awful, the guitarist was a fumbling idiot, the bassist seems hell bent on killing himself by jumping off the highest speaker set and the singer is a petulant little bitch who stormed off at the end because the crowd let her know what they thought, absolute crap....

well, first head leaves because he found God, now munky left the uk tour for what ever reason, i wonder what's going on in the Korn camp?? I'm a huge Korn fan, Korn was the very first band who i listened to. why don't they just hold auditions for new guitarists who REALLY want to be in the band!!!!!

Birmingham academy

Saw these last night, the venue was crap, the sound was awful. Korn were amazing as usual but the sound and venue let them down.
I didn't see a thing, but what I heard made up for it.
Deathstars were okay, nothing special.
Flyleaf's singer was a metal bjork, considering she's from Texas her wannabe icelandic accent was terrible.
Nothing but good things to say about Korn though, JD even asked us all to send positive vibes to Munky.
Setlist was awesome!

Oh.

That's quite dissapointing. But I guess it could be worse, they might not be touring at all.

I still managed to see them back at Download though, and that was with Joey Jordison as well, so that was insanely good.

Still can't wait to see them on Wednesday in Cardiff. All the best for Munky.

Explaination etc.

Munky left to fly back to Baskerville because his dad is ill

KoRn themselves put on an amazing show when i went to see them (20th Jan, Carling Academy B'ham).

There set was absolutly amazing and so where the support band, Deathstars.
However, other supporters (Flyleaf) were absolutly rubbish

its a shame that munkey has left the tour , hopefullt he will return soon aswell as david,

i've loved KoRn since the mid nineties and have seen the in count 7 times (including birmingham on sun which i would give 5 stars to),

i will never lose faith in them, until they all call it a day, die hard fans like my self will continue to surpport them for years to come, bring on Brixton!!
