Smashing Pumpkins are currently in the studio working on new material.
Despite touring for most of 2007 the band are not taking time off.
Drmmer Jimmy Chamberlin said: "The tour was a rock rampage and now we are back in the studio recording some songs for a possible release worldwide."
The Smashing Pumpkins' European tour starts in January and the new material is expected to be released early 2008. It is not yet known whether the songs will be released as a full-length album.
