Iron Maiden announce debut UK stadium show!

Iron Maiden will play their debut UK stadium show next summer at London's Twickenham Rugby Stadium.

Despite selling out arenas and stadiums the world over and headlining major UK festivals like Reading and Donington many times, as yet, Maiden have never played a stadium headline show in the UK.

"It could be a bit of an understatement to say how excited we all are to be playing this show next summer," said bassist Steve Harris. "We've got hell of a tour planned visiting old and new fans all over the world but as always it's great to get home and play here in London especially at such a prestigious stadium as Twickenham. It's going to a fantastic occasion."

Catch the band on their Somewhere Back In Time World Tour at the 50,000 capacity Twickenham Rugby Stadium on Saturday, July 5 2008. Tickets go on sale Friday November 30 on www.aloud.com.

shame they can't do a tour of all the smaller venues. wembly they'd probably feel but Twickers is gonna take time. Shame they haven't got anything new to offer other than this.

Hang on...

Well Maiden did, last winter. They did an arena tour. Was fucking brill. But just cos they don't do a stadium near you don't get put off.

IM will always keep touring The UK arenas, wait till 2009/10, new album, new tour. Great stuff. I don't mind waiting. :)

Why do people moan??? Maiden [played 10 arena dates on the last album tour ,more than anywhere else.I for one will be going to Twickenham and will enjoy what will be a great gig.People don't seem to be happy unless they are moaning about something. It won't be too long before the moaners start complaining about download being at the same time as exams!!! Well that is on a bloody weekend so as far as I am aware there are no exams on a weekend.Well I moaned about moaners and now this is my moan finished lol.Over and out....Up the Irons

arena's?

I saw maiden at sheffield arena in 2005, but missed them in 2006 when they came. but my point is, anyway, that they do tour arena's, just not every year. they need time to record and rest and such remember...

Only UK Show in 2008?

Is this gonna be their only UK show in 2008, or only like stadium show? I'm confused! Does anybody know because I'm gonna go and see them, but if they will be playing at other venues around the UK, I won't rush to get tickets for this gig! Even though it will be amazing!

!!! How are people confused.Check the Maiden site which has all dates on and it clearly states in the news that it is the ONLY UK show.So only meaning that they will do other shows around the country duh!! If you want to go get a ticket if not then fine but why people whinge about the band not playing in their kin backgarden is beyond me.Sort it out people.

i guess your right bullet are more metallica than maiden really, but yea d-force would be totally cool coz you can distinctly hear the influence in the voice. and priest and motorhead are legends. what do you guys reckon about disturbed? linkin park would be pretty cool but im pretty sure theyre on tour at the time, as i think are KoRn, and i suppose MCR would just be a pipe dream, coz as desperate as i am to see MCR they'd probably be what HIM were to metallica at wembley last july. :(
so dudes wat do you reckon, i wanna hear some suggestions.
