Well, I would hope it wouldn't be MCR because firstly they're pretty useless and secondly they're hardly new. My vote is with Enter Shikari. Never before have I seen such energy, charisma, an ecclectic mix of music and amazing live shows from any band on Earth. They make it all look so easy and are thoroughly awesome guys!

Top it.

As much as I think My Chemical Romance should win it; I don't think they will. Obviously; they're hated by a few... okay... many.

I'm putting my bets on Avenged Sevenfold or someone similar.

I think it'll definately be My Chemical Romance. Thier music is from the heart and I really like the fact that Gerard sings about life, not the shit that's about girls and sex and drugs, that's a load of bloody shite. I mean do we really want to know about people's sex lives?
Going to see MCR on 15th November, can't wait, maybe 3rd time lucky on meeting them (:
I love My Chem, and they truly do deserve to win.

which new band will top the polls?

In my opinion, i think that the new up and coming band is the fray. Their messeges in their music are definitely worth listening to and the music they make isnt all about girls, breakups and so on and so forth. i think it is very healthy for the music industry to stear away from all of the "girl" songs. The fray deserve to top the new band poll because not only are their lyrics emotionally demanding; they can also pull out an awesome show live with amazing vocals. by the words of the wise, popular demand will start making the fray more noticeable; because hey, piano is cool again kids!

Lostprophets.

It has to be lostprophets, i mean they pull off amazing sell out tours, they still enjoy playing club shows, they actually appreciate theyre fans, they know they wouldnt be here without us, they really deserve to come out on top, because its mainly always the bands that are here one minute and gone the next because the scenes changed that pick up the awards but lostprophets will always be here and they deserve the awards to prove it. (ps they have been voted Best british Band in the kerrang awards so...)

My answer.

It's got to be Oakland's own Machine Head.

They were totally written off by the press during the 'Supercharger' and 'The Burning Red' years, then they released 'Through The Ashes Of Empires' which was a great comeback, then released 'The Blackening' which was hailed as this generation's Master Of Puppets, better than their debut which is a true classic, and got top reviews (10/10, 5/5, 100%) etc almost everywhere from the press and fans alike.

They were voted best band at Download 2007, were handpicked by Metallica to support them at Wembley and they took best album and icon awards at both the important rock/metal awards ceremonies earlier this year.

This is DEFINITELY been the year of Machine Head and they definitely deserved it after being pushed aside for fad bands since they released their debut 'Burn My Eyes' in 1994.

I hope it is bring me the horizon. I'm thinking this because they've won awards before with only an EP, that basically proves they are AMAZING right? I believe their different from other musicians. I love their lyrics. They get me in a good mood when im upset or angry. Anything and everything, bring me the horizon is singing about it. Breakups, Cheating, People who breat your heart...

Bring me the horizon Is the best band in the world.

BURNING QUESTION

I think that, without a doubt, this years breaking band will be Paramore. There are dozens of other deserving bands but in my opinion, Paramore have worked the hardest this year to get where they are now... recording an incredible piece of pop-punk history, killing it on Warped Tour and also in their UK tours, while also being able to maintain such a close relationship with their fans. Not many bands are capable of that, especially whilst still coping with the torments of growing up and being a teenager in the music industry. Paramore have proven to the world that they can score airplay on leading radio stations, appear on mainstream television channels like MTV, and still stay true to themselves and their fans while still showing that youthful passion that we saw when they first appeared on the scene in 2005.
