Cavalera Conspiracy is go!

Cavalera Conspiracy is a new musical project from Soulfy frontman Max Cavalera, which sees him reunited with his brother Igor Cavalera after 11 years. It is the first time the pair have recorded together since Max left Sepultura acrimoniously in 1996.

The pair are currently working on their debut album in Los Angeles with producer and former Soulfly guitarist Logan Mader. They're joined by Soulfy guitarist Marc Rizzo and Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier assuming bass duties. According to Max, the foursome are creating an album which will make fans "shit their pants".

"The songs are insane, I can't wait for people to hear it," he enthuses. "My attitude about this was to just not give a fuck. Everyone expects tribal grooves from me but there's none of that this time. There's lots of punk-metal and death metal and I really wanted to keep it punk rock."

Having been working separately for so long, Max admits the first couple of days in the studio were pretty nerve-wracking, wondering if the musical connection between he and his brother was still going to be there.

"I was very nervous at first because it's been 10 years since we recorded together," says Max. "In the end I thought fuck it, let's just get back to doing what we do. Everybody in the studio says it's as if we've never really stopped playing with each other. There was no weirdness."

There are plans to take The Cavalera Conspiracy out on the road early next year to coincide with the release of their debut album.

"We won't tour as much as Soulfly," admits the frontman. "We also don't want to tour as little as [1994 side-project] Nailbomb, who only played two shows. So yeah, people will get to see this live, a couple of tours on every continent would definitely be cool!"

The Cavalera Conspiracy's album is due out early 2008 through Roadrunner.

Same old bullshit from Max.
Everytime he records something, out comes all the "The heaviest shit ever", "These riffs are KEELLAARR", "This will blow you away" quotes.
Max has spouted this garbage since the days of Roots. The last time he wrote a decent song was almost 15 years ago.

what else is MAX meant to say "Yeah this new stuff is pretty shit really I dont know why were bothering." Only a cock munch takes that stuff literally and people know the proof is in the pudding. I'll admit Roots and Chaos AD were the best things they ever wrote but the stuff BOTH bands wrote since then isnt that bad at all. Show some respect to some of the greatest musicians about you fool.

Since I've been listening to Sepultura since I was 6 (the first song I ever heard was "Attitude" off the Roots album) this project has engulfed my life over the past year - I've been living off the 4track demo of "Inflikted" since it was released, and now that they've made the full cuts of "Inflikted" and "Sanctuary" available I'm getting REALLY excited for this album.

Apparently the band have been confirmed for Rock AM Ring and Grasspop festivals this year too - so hopefully we'll get somewhat of a live CD/DVD this year or next? Lets hope so. Only time will tell...
