Biffy's Rihanna cover to be released

Scottish trio Biffy Clyro are set to appear on Radio 1's Live Lounge: 2 album, with their stripped-down cover version of Rihanna's chart-topping Umbrella.

The album is set for release on October 22 through Sony BMG. The band will release their new single Machines on October 8 through 14th Floor.

dudes! calm down! if no-one mixed and matched with different music genres where would we be? no one song can be classified into any one genre! i mainly like rock but come on, who hasnt found themselves absentmindedly singing along to a song they wouldnt normally? dont take it too seriously. :)

Wow, it's a shame no one appreciates music nower days, it's almost like: 'that cant be worth listening to, it's not on Kerrang'. That Rihanna song is great, I don't think Biffy woulda covered it if it was s:*t. If you're all such great music fans you should be able to appreciate a good song, what ever genre it is. Making fun of annoying songs is funny. Who hasn't leaped down their school corridor screaming Girlfriend loudly?!
But I agree lets not deliberately go against a song merely because of it's genre. I like Black Eyed Peas so xP but this song is annoying and I dreamt of killing Rihanna for weeks...=]

They're not 'making fun' of it. It's good to broaden your mind and listen to other genres. I'd rather listen to a band covering a hip-hop song and actually putting their own stamp on it than just covering a typical rock song and it sounds exactly the same.

Get over the whole 'rap is shit' phase, it doesn't make you any more of a rock fan.

i have adored biffy from the begininng . . . and altho overplayed, i like umbrella too.

so put em both together. . . you get an interesting mix !!

the more bands and artists mix and match, remix and cover other songs and genres the better :]
