New HIM album has strings attached

After Queens Of The Stone Age, Weezer and Good Charlotte, Finnish rockers HIM are the latest band to be given the classical treatment by Vitamin Records.

A String Quartet Tribute To HIM will be released on September 10 and features reinterpretations of Wings Of A Butterfly, Buried Alive By Love and Killing Loneliness.

The record is said to be "a haunting and beautiful recreation of this iconic band's unique sound", according to a label spokesperson. Meanwhile, HIM's new album Venus Doom will be released on September 3 through Warners.

Sounds like it could be cool, I never even knew the other bands listed had string tributes done to them! lol only thing I know of like that is Apocalyptica plays Metallica or some title like that. =)

I love the Vitamin String Quartet. They've done some amazing stuff, and from what I've heard of the previews on the website, these string arrangements are no exception! Can't wait for Venus Doom either!!!

It will definately be interesting to hear HIM songs performed by a string quartet, but I'm really looking forward to the release of Venus Doom and getting to see Ville and Company play their own songs live in NYC this December! It will be my first time seeing them live, and I can't wait!
