Mastodon guitarist hospitalised

Mastodon guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds was hospitalised with a severe head injury on Sunday evening (September 9) following the band's performance at the MTV VMAs.

A statement from the band's management reads as follows:

"Mastodon guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds suffered a severe head injury after his performance on Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas. He is being treated by a Las Vegas hospital where he remains hospitalised."

Various websites are reporting that the head injury was sustained after Hinds was allegedly assaulted sortly after Mastodon performed Colony Of Birchmen at the Palms Casino Fantasy Suites in Las Vegas.

ive seen them a couple of times since 2004 and given two of there albums a chance. sorry but theres just nothing to hold my interest. it just seems like certain magazines said 'there amazing' and everyone doesnt judge for them selves.

when they supported tool just showed there weakness in comparison to a band of the same genre

Hope he gets better soon. Saw them at WEMBLEY when they were supporting METALLICA. didn't expect much but they suppassed my expectations and I'd go and see them again.

Saw Mastodon at both Donny and Wembley, very impressed. I think Combat Johnny must have been the only person at Wembley wearing a HIM t-shirt!!!

please, be quiet. just becuase i don't like mastodon doesn't mean i like over hyped shit like HIM, your right in thinking that i saw them at wembley but i also have seen them at a few other shows. they just have nothing that grabs me. where as machine head sounded fresh and reborn
