Killswitch Engage have posted their brand spanking new video for 'Holy Diver' online.
KsE guitarist - and assigned ginger 'princess' - Adam Dutkiewicz told Kerrang!:
"We kinda started out with the idea that it was a throwback to the original song where Dio is slaying demons and beasts and all this stuff, and I was like, 'Y'know what, man, it would be kinda sweet if we were doing it, and I have to be the princess!'. I'm the tallest, fattest dude with all the chest hair and sideburns and facial hair - it made sense, y'know?
WHAT ARE ALL THE REST OF THE BAND DRESSED UP AS?
"Mike D [D'Antonio, bass] is the knight, because that made sense because he's the shortest and most un-knightlike. Joel [Stroetzel, guitars] is the wizard because he looks like a wizard in modern times. Justin [Foley, drums] gained king status because of his beard, and then Howard [Jones, vocals] is the 'blacksmith', pun intended. He had to be the trusty African-Americansmith! Everybody looks pretty freaking good actually, everyone did a good job. Unfortunately, it wasn't in the budget to hire a dragon..."
WHAT'S THE STORY IN THE VIDEO?
"The story is a knight coming to awake a princess and this old wizard is kind of getting in the way, so he had to be defeated. So Joel actually gets killed in the video by the trusty African-Americansmith!"
