Korn go green

Korn have taken a leaf out of the Warped Tour's book and have decided to go green.

The nu-metallers have chosen to fuel their 16 current tour buses with bio-diesel as opposed to standard petrol. In doing so, the band will reduce their CO2 emissions by 50 tonnes.

"We can't save the planet overnight but this is our way of saying everyone has to start somewhere," says frontman Jonathan Davis. "As a touring band, it's our responsibility to start making a difference. We encourage all other bands touring this summer to do the same."

erm..

just a thought, yeah using enviromentally friendlier fuel is all well and good, but surely the logical question to ask is, "Why do we need 16 tour busses?" Surely cutting that down would be more effective.

I agree w this SO much. what do they use all those busses for? does each of the band members have one, and then each of the set crew etc? or perhaps they carry their gear on the spare busses? this is highly unlikely, i'm sure, but ya never know.

still love 'em heaps, eh. and i'm DEFINATELY not dissing them. I'm just curious. It's about time that more musicians started caring for the environment. it sets a good example for everybody else :)

bands are starting to be more eco friendly. I heard linkin park are planting trees for the amount of electricity they use on their tour.

Who gives a shit about the environment, really? It\'s just a dumb racket that hippies and idiots and people who believe everything Gordon brown and some dumb celebrities tell them care about.
The only thing I want to see Korn contribute to it is their bodies as fertiliser.

Why don´t they use all there money they have to buy land in Brazil to prevent the fucking american companies to destroy all, for me their attitude to use bio-diesel is just to sale more records, their sales are going down and down since they lost the creative, they will never do a record like korn or life is peachy

OH, LORD...

that's just sweet...they are using biofuel for their 16!!!!!!!!!!!! buses...16 fuckin' buses...as if their touring with a fuckin' orchestra...and i hear that joey jordison has its own bus, a whole freakin' bus just for his little ass...rock shows, planes, buses...rock stars waste 1000 fuckin times more energy than normal people do...and they are the ones reminding us to be more aware and economical... organising concerts to rase peoples awareness is just the most fuckin' twofaced thing you can do...there is actually very little that we can do now, couse climate has already changed and people are already dying becouse of it...and i can't say whether thats our fault or not and i'm certainly not sayin' it's their fault, but i just fuckin' hate when bands like linkin park act like big knowitalls...trying to redeem themselves by planting a fuckin' tree...and sending a naive message across that that can actually help...it can't...it does no harm, its better than nothing, but it's not saving this fuckin' planet...
