Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott has revealed to Kerrang! that the band's forthcoming album 'Rise Of The Tyrant' will be their best and most extreme offering to date.
The album was recorded with producer Fredrik Nordstrîm at Studio Fredman in Gîteborg, Sweden, home to some of the band's earlier outings.
"We did things a little differently this time," explains the guitarist. "We took time off so that we could actually go away and write the album without any distractions, and we spent a lot longer on pre-production and getting everything laid out. It's got a lot of guitar solos and, of course, plenty of harmonies and melodies. To my ears it's definitely the best and most extreme sounding album we've ever done."
Amott has also revealed that two songs - 'Blood On Your Hands' and 'Revolution Begins' - are likely to be chosen for future video production.
"We might just shoot some that are totally basic," Amott reveals. "I don't like spending too much money on videos. You can end up spending more money on a video than an entire album. If you're Madonna it makes sense as you'll get huge rotation, whereas the only rotation we're likely to get is on YouTube!"
Artwork for the record comes courtesy of Dark Tranquillity guitarist Niklas Sundin. Other tracks set to appear include: 'The Last Enemy', 'I Will Live Again', 'In This Shallow Grave', 'Rise Of The Tyrant', 'The Day You Died', 'Intermezzo Liberte', 'Night Falls Fast', 'The Great Darkness' and 'Vultures'.
'Rise Of The Tyrant' will be out on September 24 via Century Media.
