Lostprophets hit the studio

Lostprophets entered a Los Angeles studio last week to begin work on the follow-up to their 2006 album 'Liberation Transmission' with producer John Feldmann (Atreyu, The Used).

"It's nice because we're out of the way of everything and can focus on the record," says frontman Ian Watkins. "It's going well and it's going to be a harder album - not in terms of difficulty, mind - but in sound."

The band will take a break to play this weekend's T In The Park festival and the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals as well as a couple of intimate club shows. The band will then return to California to complete work on the new album, which will be released in early 2008.

saw them at the birmingham N.I.A and they played a track they were thikin for the new album METALCORE thts all i can say wiked i went to the gig to see aiden and only knowin lostprophets' first 2 albums. but theyre going back to there roots WOO thts all i can say.

I also have to say one of the best bands to see live and i dnt like them tht much, thats even on seein Dimmu Borgir, Machine Head, Dragonforce and Turisas.

i think its gr8 but im worried because if de producer brought hilary duff and dere worried about se new sound it might be pop and dats not wat i want because i luv lp to much and 4 my sake i dont want a really shit pop album!!!!

meh, might be alright. lliberation trans-shit was very disappointing. fake sound of progress is a great album, hopefully they'll go back to that.

please no machine head covers though, that was the gayest thing i ever heard.

EMOlution

After Liberation Transmission I became really sceptical of Lost Prophets and their whole play on the market. Take Fake Sound of Progress - nu-metal tinged anthems (complete with mixing desks) to coincide with the nu-metal 'revolution' of the time, Start Something played on the then roaming giant that was metalcore and finally (for now at least) Liberation Transmission joined the Emo band wagon. Band's evolving their sound is fine (and very much welcome) but LP's seem to be doing it for all the wrong reasons.

Yeah, I dislike Hilary Duff too, but just because JF produced her album doesn't mean the Lostprophets album will sound 'pop'. Do some research on him and you'll find out he's done a hell of a lot more alternative albums.

Looking forward to hearing the new material and seeing them live again whenever I get the chance.

Liberation was a cracking album for what it was trying to achieve - Pop Punk

In fact it was the best Pop punk album of the year beating bands and artists who have been doing it for years +44 - Mark and Travis anyone?

FOP and Start Something are still their better albums but to say LT was a shit album is just silly... and a more mainstream pop punk market gave the lads something they have deserved for a long time - PUBLIC RECOGNITION

I went to see them in Manchester M.E.N on the 19th of April and they metioned that the album wounld be more Darkier!

i get rather annoyed with people slating the liberation transmission album. fake sound of progress and start something wereawesome albums yes and so was liberation transmission, not everyone was going to like it because lostprophets were experiment with a different sound but its not a shit album and for all those retards who call lostprophets "emo faggots" they can piss off emo music is emotional charged punk roc and are lps that? no i think not.
anyway enough of the ranting...
saw them at the norwich uea last thursday bloody brilliant, real entertainers and awesome live i hate bands that sound good on cd then perform shite...but lps really got the crowd going and ian should take his shirt off more often..yumyum..

BANANA MAN RULES BTW...i hugged him....for those of you who know what im talking about laugh out loud much???

cant wait for the next album is gonna be spectacular
