Same old bands week in week out

MCR every week!!!
Will it be AMY LEE or the rest of the band because every time Evanescence is in this mag it's all about her and her and well her every week!!!
Muse and Biffy again mow there's a shock. No FFAF or Pete Wentz or Fallout Boyz stories and o my god Lost Prophets have missed a photo shoot or should that be Ian Watkins pout shot weekly. Whats wrong wasnt he available?

Hmm...

Firstly i’d like to say that i liked the feature on Machine Head this week. Rob Flynn is a true hero of mine. Secondly, Mcr are fucking shit! They're always in Kerrang and quite frankly i think it’s getting ridiculous now. Kerrang is supposed to be a metal magazine. Correct me if i’m wrong but it started out with the likes of the legends, Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, ACDC, Testament, etc. It has now been taken over by shite emo fag bands, with a few decent metal acts inbetween. I can understand people have different tastes in music. But i and many other people by the sound of it, have gotten sick of the constant articles on Mcr, Fob, Lostprophets (the usual bands in the magazine lately). I miss the actual bands in there that are metal! I used to buy Kerrang weekly, but now i find i cant. What i'm saying is please try and lay off Mcr and the usual bands for at least a week or two!

Long live the real fucking metal legends of music!!

AMEN!!!

To the person supporting MCR on this, you don't need them in the mag EVERY week to know they're around! The very fact that they're in almost every week unlike some other acts (i.e. Iron Maiden, etc.) suggests to me they're merely a fad along with the whole "emo" following.
Don't get me wrong, I do like a bit of MCR here and there! They're just overstated in my opinion.

Why would a poll be necessary? Marketing is based on sales and I imagine the reason MCR are on the front cover so often is that sales go through the roof when they are. They are 1 of the few modern bands that encourage me to part with my cash, and at 42 I'm not an EMO kid!!! I know many older classic rock fans who believe MCR to be the future of pure rock.

...in slaging of bands that you don't like...i have read through some posts and realised that on almost everypage someone slags of mcr....WHAT IS THE POINT..i dnt go slaging of your fave bands(mcr is not my fave band by the way)...just keep the bad comments to yourself....if you can't comment something nice don't comment anything.and not every MCR is a stupid ''teenie''or''emo''....i know a 44 year old mcr fan who is CERTAINLY NOT ''emo'' and it alot older than 13-16 19...

personaly i don't care about slagging off mcr and shit but there is always something about some source of emo band in kerrang now the loss of metal in the mag is really annoying, and i know people say that kerrang is a mag which appreciates all types of music, but it never fuckin used to be! kerrang have forgoten their metal roots and wandered along the branch which is proclaimed emo !

isn't the point of kerrang! to cover all aspects of rock music no matter what type of rock music it is! atm mychem just happen to huge, they are headlining or playing at the majority of all festivals! they are therefore bound to get covered in k! eventually they will fade but for now let them have their fame! plus if you don't like what K! are writting about there is a simple solution: don't buy it or im you don't like the posters they have printed then don't put them up! there is so much more to life than what bands a magazine does and doesn't cover.

At last a fucking gd band on the cover, Machine Head kill any band that hav been on the cover in the entire year. Also its awesome 2 see hell is for heroes bk in the mag, they r one of the UKs best bands, should hav more brit bands like hundred reasons etc in tho but at least its an improvement

Firstly, there are magazines for metal fans... Metalhammer for example, so don't like MCR being featured in Kerrang, get the fuck over it, no one gives a shit.

There not even fucking 'Emo', emo is even a genre, all music is Emotional really? And Emotional makes Emo/Emotive Hardcore, so basically no band is really Emo... Oh and as for MCR saved my life and all that, that is rather dumb, but still why all Metal Fans feel it so necessary to go around moaning constantly about any bands that are not metal is just sad, get a frickin life.

But still good to see Muse and Ash are in, and Sum 41 at last, can we have some stuff on The Offspring and Rancid sometime soon as they both have albums coming out. Oh and some more The Automatic would be rather good, they did do more than just Monster. Toddles.

if you want to read a real music magazine dedicated to real rock and metal bands go out and buy Terrorizer.

You will not see obsessions with MCR, New Found Glory, New pop sensation Fall Out Boy (& the millions of pop punk bands), in fact they won't be mentioned at all as it only caters for decent music. They bring you information about the music the bands are playing (so no questions about what colour MCRs hair will be or what brand of nail varnish is popular this week)

Check it out. You may be surprised and if you don't like it wait until you have left school and found out what real music is. Then give it a try

If the whole magazine is not devoted to a 5 paged article of theirs about some bullshit like how life is so dificult or whatever, then it's a shitty poster in their crappy honour or some sort of fuckin mention. Firstly i’d like to say that i liked the feature on Machine Head this week. Rob Flynn is a true hero of mine. Secondly, Mcr are fucking shit! They're always in Kerrang and quite frankly i think it’s getting ridiculous now. Kerrang is supposed to be a metal magazine. Correct me if i’m wrong but it started out with the likes of the legends, Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, ACDC, Testament, Megadeth, etc. It has now been taken over by shite emo fag bands, with a few decent metal acts inbetween. I can understand people have different tastes in music. But i and many other people by the sound of it, have gotten sick of the constant articles on Mcr, Fob, Lostprophets (the usual bands in the magazine lately). I miss the actual bands in there that are metal! I used to buy Kerrang weekly, but now i find i cant. What i'm saying is please try and lay off Mcr and the usual bands for at least a week or two!

I just have to ask, what is it with all the MCR haters? I, for one, am glad that they're in it so often, but that is only my opinion. I love the poster of Frank Iero! Too bad Matt was on the other side, but MCR wins every time. I think that more stuff on metal bands would be cool, though. I am definately not complaining about Kerrang! magazine, as it is the best out there, but I agree partly with the metal fans.

It's a sign of the times...

Kerrangs status as the world's biggest selling 'weekly rock magazine' is down to giving the 'majority' what they want and right now it's inoffensive pop-punk/punk-rock bands like My Chemical Romance and Paramore et. Lay your hands on older issues (early 90s I'm referring to here) and you'll see a similar patter emerging. Other magazines do cater for more 'underground' acts/genres so it's not the end of the world peeps.

If i were working at kerrang right now I'd be ripping my hair out!!!
K has to try and please all of you!! and if that means changing from mcr and fall out boy one week to metal bands another week then we are gonna have to put up with the changes!!
How else are they gonna keep their custom? if they continue to put mcr and fall out boy (just examples)on the front then they will loose all those metal fans! so i think go kerrang for changing to metal for a change!!!

personally im a fan on mcr and foo fighters so it was great to see dave grohls face in there with Frank!!

People are all saying K! is made of My Chem, biffy, Muse, Evanescence and Lostprophets. I would be very very happy if this was the case hehe. Get over yourself people, I spent £2.10 on Kerrang! this week just because Frank Iero and the tiniest articles about Gerard Way was in it. I love My Chem and I'm sick of the arguements! If you don't like them, who the hell is forcing you to A) buy the magazine or B) Make you listen to them. If your not happy don't buy Kerrang then!!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me, but MCR are amazing and they have a HUGE fanbase to support that. I like a wide range of rock, from heavy metal, to emo, from indie to punk. From Slipknot to MCR, whatever! I don't see why people don't just grow up and accept that different people like different music.

And also...'shitty little MCR'? They are huge, now. Known throughout the world, teens and adults, that seems pretty bg to me...They're great guys in real life, too. But hey...everyone has their own opinions...

This weeks K!

Good job on the Robb Flynn: Machine Head article. If anybody deserves to be respected it is people like Flynn; to come through all that he has in his life and still want to keep doing what he was clearly put on this earth to do, show the people how to make music, the guy clearly deserves a knighthood - why not, she seems to just be giving them out anyway. More articles such as this would be much appreciated by me and many of the true fans of what K! originally stood for.
I also enjoyed to read the features of Judas Priest and Velvet Revolver.

Now for my rant - For all those who say that metal heads like nothing but metal then you are the truly the ignorant ones not the ''ignorant metal-heads''. All we want is Kerrang to respect its roots and give more focus to metal. Which is why I have devised a solution ... for all the emos and whatever else put the likes of mcr, fob, patd etc at the back of the mag and make it so that it can be easily ripped out for the people who don't want it, this way everyone is happy and K! is back to how it once was.

BTW even though I am a metal head my taste in music is more diverse than emos could ever imagine it to be.
Metal -: Megadeth, Slayer, Machine Head, COB, BFMV, Slipknot etc
Rock -: Led Zeppelin, Guns N' Roses, Queen etc
Punk -: Dead Kennedys, NOFX etc
Classical -: Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin etc
Misc. -: RATM, Reveille, Bob Marley, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles etc
I have a healthy respect for music and so do lots of my metal head friends punk friends chavish like friends who like hip hop (they like what they like - their decision)

but to be honest any kid that says that mcr arent emo then claims that they "saved my life" are fucknig hipocrites.
i personnally think mcr are total shite but you are allowed to dissagree
there are too many bad bands fetured in kerrang and there mostly the same. there are a few that arent but its just getting repetative and dull.
machinehead are fucking brill and they diserved this, but i dislike how kerrang have made them seem more whiney. and yeah metalheads like more than just noise but this is meant to be a metal mag so they should have more metal in it

whats the point guys?

To be totally honest with you guys, I think you are all making a big deal out of this.
Firstly, I love mcr. Listening to them as I type, as a matter of fact. And I'm glad K! put a Frank poster in. I'm not a person that goes around saying "I LOVE GERARD WAY XOXO" cos I don't like them for their looks. I like them for their musical inspiration. I like them because they actually care for their fans and don't take shit from anyone. They make it perfectly clear that they are not "emo" or any other stereo type that some haters brand them with.
Secondly, I am not really a fan of Machine Head, but being a K! reader, I bought it. I found it quite interesting, and it encouraged me to listen to their music.

The point I'm trying to make is that you should lay off the pointless slag mcr comments. To be honest, no one gives a fuck whether you hate them or not. Just please, back off the stupid comments for the people that like mcr.
If you hate mcr, fine. You don't have to go broadcast it on here so everyone can read it. If you hate them so much, don't put the damned poster on your wall!

Ok so here's my two cents on why My Chemical Romance divide opinion like so;

Firstly they're huge, and alot of people - particuarly those who still see the alternative genres as the 'underground, underdog' it was say 20 or so years ago don't like to see any Tom, Dick or Harry 'muscule in on their patch'. Particuarly if the Tom, Dick or Harry in question is someone of major dislike.

Other people would rather see their favourite band garner the spotlight - be that in magazine or stage format, that has come to MCR in a relatively short time.

Then their will be those following the crowd for whatever reason, in addition to those who merely do not like the music.

NO band is safe from the critics although some volley more vocal (and physical) dislike.

thanks for finally doing the decent thing and putting rob flynn on the front cover; it was long overdue. By the way is there any chance of having a giant poster of machine head sometime. Iv had enough of posters of bands with very little musical talent (aka powerchord abusers).

Right. Lets get this straight. Just because a band sells lots of cd's it doesnt make them a quality band, it means theyve found a niche in which they plan to sell their music. (Look at 'fergie' from BEP and countless others, shes sold thousands, but lets be honest, shes utter shite.) Anyway, EMO is not a genre, its a Label of image used by other members of the 'rock fraternity' (although increasingly by everyone now) to describe whiney little mop headed kids in ladies jeans that fit round their ass. (there are also another hundered odd things that count toward this branding people 'emo' buisness,,) but anyway,,
So, MCR say they arent Emo, so they couldnt be. What utter bollox. So when 'so solid crew' bust a nut about being Chav (another label from the past 5 years) does that mean they couldnt be chavs? Fuck no, look at the bloody scum.

As for MCR being in K! too much, i must say, for 6 years i bought kerang for its great reviews, unbiased reports, and its honesty, K! once covered bands that no other magazine dare (with the exception of a few xtreme metal mags) because they knew that there were still leigions of die hard metal fans out there, buying kerrang. Now, during this time, there was still plenty of variation in coverage, From Rock to Metal and Punk and all in between, but kerrang slowly got sloppy. It began giving huge spreads to 'fad' bands, eventually pushing most of the more original music out of the reach of its covers. Before long this was the case EVERY week, and now i cant buy a copy of kerrang because i know there will only be one or two articles i can even take seriously.. For example, i will be buying kerrang this week, but its Rob Flynn and Machine Head that will sell it to me, and nothing else.

As for MCR being proven, PAH! selling lots of copies of a cd in the genre as accesible as MCR's proves NOTHING. When MCR have been round as long as MH we'll see if everyones so exited by their unoriginal style..

I do not care for MCR but that is not to say i dont respect them, or appreciate what they have achieved. I DO actually like a lot of rock music, Hell i liked a Fightstar song i heard yesterday!! Machine head to Meshuggah, Dimmu Borgir to Emperor, Radiohead to Breed 77, Chopin to Rob Dougan to Bjork, to 2Pac. I have a lot of repect for music, but little for people who claim that these new similar bands are the future for rock. No. Machine Head, Khoma, Damn even Fightstar (who sound a little like silverchair) are more adept at providing a vision for guitar based music. MCR provide a saleable CD which will last a few years but wil ultimately die out. You think MH arent any better? Go grab a copy of burn my eyes. 10 Years ago MH blew everyone away and changed the face of metal. Through the ashes did it again in 2004, and This year the blackening took the boundaries to a whole other level.

oH, And IF MH DID like MCR, it wouldnt make a difference, i still dont.

Even Korn were going on about how MCR didnt deserve to be at donington, and korn are the original Fad metal band HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Machine Head Interview

I really enjoyed the interview of Machine Head's Robert Flynn. It was so intense and revealing. It gives Machine Head fans even more reason to appreciate their music. It shows that something amazing can come from something so terrible. Kinda looking at the bright side here.

Nice work on the article this week guys. At last a half decent band on the cover but I still agree with all those above who say drop the mcr. Theyre so over rated its fucking crazy.
Ok. If your a fag emo (and yes mcr is emo reguardless of how they lable themselves) you maybe affected by the lyrics but musicly and instrumentaly these guys suck huge cock.

If you really apprieciate good music buy the new machine head album. Both instrumently and vocaly it blew me away!
