Okay, for a metalhead Kerrang! your not really doing me proud these days.. bit more of slayer, megadeth, pantera, metallica, lamb of god, cannibal corpse.. would be nice actually..
Got nothin against these emo bands cos some of are alright, but generally bring back metal! Cos emo is taking over.. scary thought.

also What happened to download being a metal fest?.. now we got my chem headlining it!!

A bit of lostprophets and i'm happy. You should get some Tokio Hotel in there though :) They are an amazing band, just trying to break their way into the UK music scene and i'd love a few posters of em. Or a nice album review =D

i dont mind the likes of paramore, cos hayley is gorgeous :)

You make me sick the way you just go with what's popular instead of what's good. It's all about the money for you.

Ever considered that if you put more good bands in instead of popular ones you'd make equally as much from an audience that otherwise doesn't get anything?

Where's the damn Iron Maiden for a start! They've just set a record of headlining Donington for the 4th time and you don't even bother giving them a feature or poster or anything?!

To the people screaming for features on other bands, have you thought that *maybe* the bands you want have other commitments that mean they can't sit down right away and have a chat with Kerrang?

Give the guys a break!

A feature will need a bunch of planning and time to edit, etc, along with a photo shoot.
To have that done in less than a week just isn't going to happen.
I'm sure there'll be a feature on Maiden soon, so don't get your knickers in a twist.

Also, of course K! is out to make money.
It's a business, not a charity.
There are workers that need paying, and sometimes that means that you've got to make some people disagree.

And the phrase about "you just go with what's popular instead of what's good" is, quite frankly, stupid. Have you wondered why these bands are popular?
Probably because they're really good at what they do.
Fall Out Boy AND Maiden AND My Chemical Romance AND Slayer AND anyone else you care to mention are good at what they do, because if they weren't there would be no fan base and they wouldn't be in the magazine.

You need to stop being so uptight about the fact that your favourite band isn't always what other people want.

And lastly, all the emo haters are the reason that the Daily Mail and publications like it can create such scare stories.
Your prejudices are the reason that parents are terrified about their kids' suicidal tendencies just because they've got a fringe.
You can't claim that all people who wear skinny jeans or listen to My Chem are "whiny" and "self-pitying", because I'm sure that most people who possess those traits have entirely different music tastes.
This whole 'emo' business is absolutely ridiculous.


And lastly, evidence of other bands' fans bottling My Chem doesn't mean they're bad, it means that the people doing it are idiots.
If you don't like a band, don't watch them - it's that simple.
I've seen plenty of bands I didn't like, and I would've thrown something if it wasn't for the fact that I'm not a moron.

hey i thought the good thing about rock was that it was the only music genre that wasnt out to get each other. It was alwasy about the music and that brought everyone together. Now you're all fighting just because something a little different comes in? come on children break it up. everyones entitled to their own opinion right? ok so perhaps fob and mcr are a little overplayed in kerrang i love them but yeh id like to see more still remains. but come on. bands like mcr are what the majority likes and if you dont like them, well you can always skip that page. that option is available. :)

I read it regularly, as much as I like MCR, I think it gets a bit repetitive. What I would like to see is a lot of Serj Tankian when his album comes out. System of a Down's members solo projects don't get enough exposure.

BTW Thanks Kerrang for featuring Fair to Midland so prominently last week. They are great.

OH MY GOD, SERIOUSLY

It's been said so many times but I just want to put my two pence in. Personally I love FOB, and MCR are a decent band as well. Call them whatever genre you want, does it really matter? If you go around saying 'I only listen to 'EMO' of 'METAL' then you're a prick. If you like the music or the band or the song, listen to it!

Kerrang can print whatever they want to. You may be trying to delude yourselves that it's an underground rag that should be 'keeping it real' but it's really a business, and to keep it going then need to sell magazines. At the moment, Pete Wentz eating an ice cream sells, so that's what goes on the cover.

As for MCR/FOB ALWAYS being on the cover, I have about fifteen copies of Kerrang, ranging from christmas 06 to now, six months on. In no order, these are the featured bands:
MCR x2 (One in december, one in march)
Mastodon
Enter Shikari
Billie Joe Armstrong
Gallows
Evanescence
Paramore
Linkin Park
Ville Valle/GIAN Preview

For goodness sake, people!

To the people screaming for features on other bands, have you thought that *maybe* the bands you want have other commitments that mean they can't sit down right away and have a chat with Kerrang?

Give the guys a break!

A feature will need a bunch of planning and time to edit, etc, along with a photo shoot.
To have that done in less than a week just isn't going to happen.
I'm sure there'll be a feature on Maiden soon, so don't get your knickers in a twist.

Also, of course K! is out to make money.
It's a business, not a charity.
There are workers that need paying, and sometimes that means that you've got to make some people disagree.

And the phrase about "you just go with what's popular instead of what's good" is, quite frankly, stupid. Have you wondered why these bands are popular?
Probably because they're really good at what they do.
Fall Out Boy AND Maiden AND My Chemical Romance AND Slayer AND anyone else you care to mention are good at what they do, because if they weren't there would be no fan base and they wouldn't be in the magazine.

You need to stop being so uptight about the fact that your favourite band isn't always what other people want.

And lastly, all the emo haters are the reason that the Daily Mail and publications like it can create such scare stories.
Your prejudices are the reason that parents are terrified about their kids' suicidal tendencies just because they've got a fringe.
You can't claim that all people who wear skinny jeans or listen to My Chem are "whiny" and "self-pitying", because I'm sure that most people who possess those traits have entirely different music tastes.
This whole 'emo' business is absolutely ridiculous.


And lastly, evidence of other bands' fans bottling My Chem doesn't mean they're bad, it means that the people doing it are idiots.
If you don't like a band, don't watch them - it's that simple.
I've seen plenty of bands I didn't like, and I would've thrown something if it wasn't for the fact that I'm not a moron.

Are kerrang! just putting MCR, Fall Out Boy, ect. in they're mag? I've noticed other stuff like HelloGoodbye. in there. WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE TITLE OF THAT ARTICLE BIT! Anyways, maybe kerrang! are playing the same record every week. Thought i am a dedicated MCR fan i do think that kerrang! are put a bit to much of them in. I'm getting sick of FOB's faces too... i say put in more SOAD and Anti flag ect.

Okay i forgot the guy's name who did the massive essay, but that was bang on!

They're popular becuase they're a good band. Yeah i can't say i listen to MCR and i don't listen to Falloutboy all that much, but get over it! Not everyone who has a fringe and has skinny jeans is emo/scene?

Went to download for the weekend... i thought it was a place full of mirrors cos' i kept seeing the same fucking guy! He had long dark scraggly greasy hair, jeans with legs that i could fit round my waist and wearing an iron maiden tee shirt. I saw him about 40,000 times! If it wasn't the same bloke, it must've been 39,999 other people who looked just like him. If that's not 'scene' i don't know what is.

And about kerrang... why would they post things about nirvana and led zepplin or whatever you are wanting? There's nothing new, they covered them in 1826. It's 2007 mate. New music, new bands, new fans, new scenes. Move with the fucking times. If you want to bum off iron maiden or jimmy hendrix all your life, go do it in your bedroom instead of getting jealous that the new bands like enter shikari are getting all the glory and your bands aren't. They had their glory, now it's the new bands turn.

To kerrang: thanks for the enter shikari poster. the you me at 6 article is good. Shame that next week it's an MCR cover again but for all you cunts who keep moaning about emo, they have Motorhead and Pearl Jam so fuck off.

I feel Kerrang! needs to show more metal roots than what it has done of late, yeah people love fallout boy and MCR but i know many people who have quit reading because there is not enough metal/hard rock in there as there used to be and just pure pop/punk/emo

I was expecting a rated live of at least ONE of the muse wembly concert this weekend (i was at the second!!) and (no-offence to people who know them and like them) two bands I didn't know! (The Nightwatchman and Turbonegro) it was GREAT!

Also, (though I like MCR and FOB) I do agree with the other comments, they are in K! to much. Get some posters of Iron Madien or BFMV.
I mean, there's a '10 days on the road with MCR' next week!

I love MCR's music but...y'know people need change.

Yeah. Also I agree with pandora this week :) glad to amy lee get squished!

And FOB/MCR are seriously overrated.

To be fair, just as seems the general consensus here, i too believe kerrang! has gone downhill dramatically over the years.

The CONSTANT references to FOB and MCR are fucking annoying. Sure, review and album or show, meantion they're working on new material but for fuck sake guys, leave it at that.

The trend of a multiple page article for them doing jack shit is getting old now, and that applies to every band, it just seems most obvious in those 2.

Theres a lot of music and little magazine space, seems a waste to me that some good issues etc are being missed just so the current "big thing" can have a 4 page spread in the issue.

Why not run more writing comps for readers? I for one would give anything to have a chance to write even the smallest piece for you guys, as im sure many others would.

The people that run kerrang are in such a powerful position, i just think its a shame it seems to be going to waste when so much more could be done.

Ewwwwww Fall Out Boy are WAY too overrated. Not only is their music not that good (no offence to them/their fans XD) but like, everyone knows about them and they're in Kerrang! waaaaaay too much. yeah, cater for all metal/punk/rock music tastes, but not stick the same band in the magazine like, ten million times. Erck. *Shudders* ...At least the CD has some good music on it =D
(I'm not saying Fall Out Boy are bad to all fans, I'm saying that it gets annoying that they're in the magazine like, all the time.)

Now I'm an MCR fan and all, but I think you include them in your issues way too much. You're even starting to piss off the fans now, sorry.

part of te reason MCR were bottled at download is kerang.
People who arnt fans haveit shoved down there throats every week n your magazine and evey 10 minutes on ur channel which makes people resent them i understand there a popular band but there also an unpopular band with a lot of people even MCR fans realize that but you experts at kerrng dont

Hey, is it just me or are the songs on this weeks cd wrong, coz no1 dosnt sound anything like Lostprophits and all the rest of the songs are in the wrong order.
am i the only one with a dodgey CD or is every one els like that to?

KERRANG IS GOING DOWN HILL

What has happened?

Kerrang really has gone down hill - it used to be respected by music lovers and people in the industry. People used to read it for up and coming bands in the alternative genre.

What is the hype about MCR? They an average band who are just based on their IMAGE - which isn't right, same goes for FOB.

Get some more down to earth, talented bands in the mag.

Gallows, Kids In Glass Houses, The Academy Is, Cobra Starship, Paramore, Ghosts On Pegasus Bridge, 3 Inches of Blood, Lamb of God......

OK... Most of the songs are pretty decent covers. But LP trying to cover a Machine Head song... It was terrible. I can't even express how bad it was. Let's hope they never attempt any more Machine Head songs!

And BMTH doing Eyeless by Slipknot!? And in the magazine, "Oli Sykes" seems to think they BMTH are heavier than Slipknot... Fuck BMTH. They fucking suck and are so far up their own fucking arse. Please never print anything to do with them again... as well as FOB, MCR, Paramore... Get some fucking Children Of Bodom... Machine Head, Korn, 3 Inches Of Blood, Amon Amarth... GOOD FUCKING MUSIC!!!

I think kerrang should mix everything instead of all MCR or all Iron Maiden how about a bit of MCR for MCR fans Iron Maiden for Maiden Fans Green Day for GD fans etc etc
