Queens Of The Stone Age mainman Josh Homme has told Kerrang! how the rift between him and former bassist Nick Oliveri is tearing him apart.
"I miss Nick and I miss the fact that I can't hang out with somebody that I really want to," says Homme. "No one ever asked me 'Wow, he was your best friend of all these years. That must have been real difficult?' No one ever asked me that simple question. And no one ever considered that I'm still friends with everybody else so there must have been something there."
When asked if he and Nick Oliveri would ever be able to put their differences behind them, Homme said: "When something happens you sit there and think 'Wait a minute, I didn't do anything!' I realise that I kind of enabled the situation and that's where I'm at fault, but I wouldn't take it back. It's just plain difficult and I really wish that he and some of the people he was around hadn't attacked because it would have allowed me to stay out of it in a way and do what I was doing, which was keeping my mouth shut."
