HIM name new album

Finnish got metallers HIM have revealed their name of their upcoming new album.

The follow-up to 2005's 'Dark Light' will be called 'Venus Doom' and, according to the band's frontman Ville Valo it's "going to be a lot heavier than anything we've done before."

"We wanted to make a really rockin' album, one that would explode your speakers," he told MTV News. "But we also wanted to maintain the melancholy aspects of love and loss in the lyrics and then have the really sweet vocals amidst this storm of guitars. It's like we're mixing My Bloody Valentine's 'Loveless' with Metallica's 'Master of Puppets'. There won't be as much ear candy on this one. Really, we just wanted to rock our own socks off."

'Venus Doom' will be released through Warner Bros in September.

I can't wait till September! No really i can't! you know why? Not only cos it's bound to be a great album, but because it was supposed to be released in July! Oh well, it should be more than worth the wait :]

Oh and I'm willing to bet that a UK tour will follow the album's release, cos I missed them last time round when I was only just getting into HIM - and Metal music for that matter. From what I've heard they're a great live band.

I love this band Dark light rocked and their albums just get better and better. can't wait for it and i recommend u see them live, i saw them at Brixton Academy so go FUCKIN see them. PEACE !!

Release Date

It was revealed today that the "Venus Doom" release date is Sept. 4th!! Woo-Hoo, I know what I'm buying myself for my birthday this year!!

Finnish goth metallers H.I.M. have reportedly set September 4 as the new release date for their follow-up to 2005's "Dark Light", entitled "Venus Doom". HIM Website

It looks like HIM may be posting three of the new songs on their website, www.heartagram.com, but there is something wrong with the main page. The main page states "Check out the new Static-X media player and hear three new..." and then the message is cut off and says "loading" but nothing happens. Keep checking back on the site to see if they fix the problem!!

SEPT 4TH IS THE DAY SAVVY!!! Though my birthday is a few days later, I guess you and I both will get something we want for our birthdays this year!! Now all I need is for them to announce the dates for the "Venus Doom" tour and find out when they will be in NYC!! I don't care if I have to sell blood to get a ticket, I'm not going to miss that show for anything!!

Can't Wait

I can't wait for the new album to come out. I am going to see them live at The Projekt Revolution Tour on September 1st, I think I am going to faint...cuz it's my 18th b-day that day. And to see HIM on stage will be the most amazing b-day in the world. Then on top of that the album is coming out not too long after that. Shit am I lucky. WOO HOO!!!

every girl in love with HIM loves Ville Valo, that's not a news... personally i can't stand in my shoes to hear the new album in September. Passion's Killing Floor is a great song to me, Ville's right to say they've gotten heavier, though there are too many vocals (i don't complain, i just love his voice! when i didn't like Valo i was already in love with his voice!)... let's hope that without Nygren he would do something more metal than Dark Light (that i like a lot, though). i beg your pardon if i made mistakes... i'm Italian, not English! ^^
