AFI men's new band

AFI frontman Davey Havok and guitarist Jade Puget have completed work on their side-project Blaqk Audio.

The duo - "two boys in love with synthesizers and software", according to their MySpace page - will release their debut album 'CexCells' in August.

i love AFI so much there so awsome there the best band ever so what if there not as heavy as they were when they started . its just that more people r in 2 bands like fall out boy nd my chem nd im sick of people saying how AFI have betrayed us cause they havent

theyve had stuff online for months and months but they are sounding very good, they arent a very kerrang band though its more like ladytron than afi

although for those interested 37mm and love like winter off of decemberunderground were originally Blaqk Audio songs.

Blaqk Audio are NOTHING like AFI.

They still have Davey's (beautiful) vocals, but they're completely electronic.

No geetars, bass, drums or anything else.


It's not shitty dance moosic through (phew), they're amazing.

Just listen to Stiff Kittens.

Blaqk Audio is really amazing. I'm surprised it's taken so long for anyone here to mention anything.
I'm also kinda surprised it's here are all because if it were anyone other than two guys from a rock band, Kerrang would take no notice of them.
People should check them out though, I dislike electronica intensely but this I loved.

All Aboard The Bandwagon


Well, personally, AFI is over-rated... they've never impressed me, mainly because from my observations, most people see them as something original and to be musically-cool is to have an AFI CD somewhere in your CD collection.

So when listening to Blaqk Audio, I wasn't all that surprised that it was pretty awful. And I'm not surprised that most AFI fans are going to enjoy it because after all it IS two members of AFI. Unfortunately, just because a someone tries something different than other people, it doesn't automatically make it good and I BA is far from good.

But good for them for bringing back 80s synth-rock... I can picture them performing now... can anyone say "keytar heaven"?

i love both of davey's bands, he's an amazing frontman no matter what band he's singing in, blkq audio are very techno while afi are very mtro gothic i think its great!

I realy like Blaqk Audio, and not just because Davey is singing neither because Jade makes the music. I'm kinda sick of hearing things like : 'oh my god davey is so sexy and i fucking like jade's hair and he's so sweeeeeet and they are like the best and i luuuv them and blablabla.. and i realy loooove blaqk audio cuz davey is in it and blablabla..'
I'd rather like to hear what you think of the music (and guess what, hunter and adam are part of that!)
AFI is my life but it's realy depressing that most of the people only like them because davey and jade are hot (yes, I admit they're hot).

And you wanna know my biggest fear ?
That one day Davey and Jade aren't gonna be interested in AFI. And that they only will do Blakq Audio-stuff.. That's the day I'm gonna die, seriously.

hey, earlier in the thread someone mentioned touring possibilities; Jade recently said that if the album Cexcells (which is now being released on the fourteenth) sells well in the UK then they will definately tour. Jade went on to say that it would be a very different experience to any afi show, not only for the audience but also for himslef, as he will be in control of all the keyboards, synthesizers and other software that they employ to create their fabulous songs!!
