i listened to the clip on nightwish's website and im not too chuffed
dont get me wrong - she can sing
i just dont think her voice is powerful enough to compete with the guitars etc

So happy that they've got a new singer!
Can't wait to hear the new stuff!
Will miss Tarja though :(

I too do not feel that her voice is powerful but to be fair, the clip was very short and possibly does not display her vocal abilities. i'll wait until i hear a song in full t decide, but i don't think she'll be able to pull off the old songs. Yeah Tarja was a greedy corperate **** but she had a great voice. the guys of nightwish have spent long enough searching for a singer, so they must think Anette is capable of singing the way which is required.....

personally i think they should be the secret band at download next month it will be a good introduction for the band and new singer to re- introduce themselves to the audience.

i've just download the full track Eva only cost 70p its a beautiful song but i don't think she's gonna have the power in her voice, especially to sing the old songs, but you never know she could sing them really well. just have to wait and see but i'm not holding my breath.

The single is available from Nuclearblasts website, there's a link on Nightwishs website, It sounds great and the 3 extra samples from the forthcoming album sound good. Anette isn't classicaly trained like Tarja so will be interesting to hear her sing the old material. From reading the interview on their website at least she is thrilled to be in Nightwish umlike Tarja was at the end.

yha am happy that they have a new singer 2 but we will miss her at some times..evin if she was a bich but can u blam her !

I love Anette!
For me its all about the music, not the voice. But I'm in no doubt that Anette can pull it off and fill the gap left by Tarja. Talent aside I also think she seems a little more friendly and approachable. Tarja was fired for her personality not her lack of talent. Thankfully Nightwish appear to have a new voice minus one ego.

Not anymore, thats my answer. Granted their will never be another Tarja, they couldn't replace her she is unique. However, they did it! Anette's voice is great and she is very pretty, I honestly don't belive she is 36! She got the talent without the ego. Good luck to NW with their next album, personaly I can't wait.

Yes, I listened to the clip too and I must agree that although anette sounds okay, she doesn't seem to have the capabilities to hit the high notes as well as Tarja had and this to me spells a big mistake for Nightwish! Anyhoo, I still wish Nightwish the best but I doubt they'll excell as they have in the past..Face it, Tarja was one in a million guys! Enuff said!!

I like that Nightwish has got a new singer, they obviously wanted to show a different side to there music by getting a new singer. Alot of people opinions might change, but thats probably what they wanted :]

I think its very interesting that it seems to be the people who have only heard REAL Nightwish once or twice who like Anette(or her looks).I have not heard ONE old fan say that Anette is better. She sounds like a child and as someone wrote in a forum "She sings like Nelly Furtado". Tarja was magnificent and Anette is not close to her in any way..

In difference to many other fans, I did like "Once" even if it was more modern and commercial than the old albums. I think that they will only be more and more like Evanescence and the other bands who only are known for a "pretty female singer".

I think Tuomas is wonderful and extremely talented but I dont believe as much in the music with this singer =(
