Sanctity, the North Carolina metal troupe currently on tour around the UK with Trivium, crashed their van on April 17 after a performance at Nottingham Rock City.
Vocalist Jared MacEachern spoke to Kerrang! shortly after the event and described their near-death experience.
"We had just left the venue, and we somehow ended up going up a one-way street the wrong way," recalls the vocalist. "We didn't see any stop lights and we went over an crossroad. There was a guy coming down the hill who had a green light to go, and obviously two large vehicles can't occupy the same space..."
The two motors collided sending Sanctity's van off course, tearing across the road, over a traffic light and "ended up in a wall". Despite the severity of the damage to the van, there were no injuries sustained, and everyone involved is safe and well.
"We haven't been in any accidents before," says the singer. "Hopefully, that's it!"
The band's album, er, 'Road To Bloodshed' is out now through Roadrunner. See next week's Kerrang! magazine for pictures of the crash.
