Marilyn Manson has revealed that his 2003 album 'The Golden Age Of Grotesque' was almost his parting shot to the music world. But after the collapse of his year-long marriage to burlesque star Dita Von Teese, the self-styled God Of Fuck found himself writing music again to deal with his "fucked up year".
The album 'Eat Me, Drink Me', which hits the shops on June 4 via Interscope, was co-produced by Manson and bassist Tim Skold and features a slower, more sombre style which may shock his fans.
"I never wanted to make music again," Manson tells Revolver magazine. "But music was the only salvation I had going for me. I think this record will probably speak to more people because of its human element."
